| What I can't wait for is 2009 when Camaros are in production again. That is one sweet ride! |

Saw it today. Spoilers ahead....
Far too much human presence (a human kills Megatron?!) and the entire middle section should have been heavily edited to make a stronger movie. What is a teenage romance doing in a Transformers movie? Why do people need to see that kind of shlock in every film? What's wrong with marginalizing the humans in a movie about Transformers? Why were the transformers secondary characters in a movie that bills them as headliners?
The opening script was well written, funny and quite witty, but it soon fell into cliches and just plain lameness. Thankfully, that's when the action heated up.
It was a fun movie, but the contrasts were too high between the stages of the movie. Too much human involvement overall, and not enough Transformer.
It could have been much better; a 7/10 for me. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole movie. The lines at the beginning of the movie were clever and funny. Optimus Primes monologues about helping and protecting humanity were right off the cartoon. The was probably one of the best comic book movies in ages.
Definitely looking forward to the sequel. I give it a 8.5/10 |

I'm a hardcore G1 fan and I didn't go into this movie with high expectations
I thought the autobot designs/voices were good and well done, the decepticons on the other hand were pure crap. The decepticons voices were not well done with the exception of Hugo Weaving's megatron, which I thought was better than the original G1 megatron's voice.
I agree with the poster above, too much human presence (Sam's parents were bumbling idiots) and too little focus on the TFs themselves. Corny dialogue (am I the only one who felt that OP was too childish?) and ridiculous scenes a la spiderman 3, really didn't help the cause.
I didn't have high hopes for this film but still came out feeling cheapened by the whole experience. If there are more films coming, please dear god do not let Michael "bad boys 2" Bay direct them.

I just saw transformers in the IMAX and I didn't like it because it fell between two stools! On the one hand there were references to masterb*tion, curse words, a focus on human relationships etc which seemed like it was appealing to an adult mindset and yet on the other hand the character dialogs were quite lame and superficial(there were too many characters that were half fleshed out)
Another thing that annoyed me was the speed. I could hardly make heads or tails of the transformers when they were fighting and the camera seemed like it was always shaking (I have to admit I was really hung over and sitting right up to the IMAX screen). I didn't really bond with any of the characters except the main ladies butt.
The decepticons were interesting, but they were a bit too Buffy the Vampire Slayer slash <insert generic computer generated monster here>.
Bumblebee looked cool, but he didn't really have much of a character, I kept trying to like him.
Would you bring your kids to this movie? |

| they didn't use a proper imax print when we saw the movie. only about 80% of the imax screen was actually covered. it's like they just took a regular reel and projected it onto the imax screen. so basically you get nothing more out of this "imax" movie. compare spiderman 3 or superman returns, in which the screen was filled almost to the floor like a real imax should. total sham. |

Bernie Mac in Transformers - Character most likely to be forgotten by the end of a movie.
It was funny. I totally forgot Bernie Mac was in the movie until the credits rolled and I saw his name. |
