Fake as a three dollar bill and written by some Harley rednecks to boot.

So, Robin Williams didn't even write this! Lame.

Doesn't matter who wrote it... There's a lot of truth there-as well as some BS. People want to fault the US on such things as education, crime and healthcare but imagine if all US military expenditures for overseas were redirected internally... What does it say about what the US does and believes in when so much money, that could do so much good to us, is designated for promoting freedom and democracy abroad? OK, fire away...

All well and good, the money would be very useful at home. It is however highly debatable that the US is "promoting freedom and democracy" abroad in a satisfactory manner. What they are doing could more accurately be called "looking after thier own best interests". That`s fine, but call it what it is, they are not out there doing any favours.

Dam n right America is looking after it's own best interest! What't wrong with that? What country isn't looking out for their own best interest. A stable middle east is not only in America's best interest but the entire world's best interest!

It doesn't matter if America is accomplishing the task. What matters is living with your conscience.

That's very true and it is equally true that it is easier to live with your conscience if it is pea sized.

If you believe that America is exporting freedom and liberty and paying for it, sacrificing their own pocketbooks at home, you fit the above.

Round and round and round we go... Where we stop, nobody knows...

People still think the US's invasion of Iraq is all about the oil... While I grant you, the invasion wasn't 100% altruistic, it was also not all about the oil.

As someone so eloquently wrote, and with which I agree, "Dam ned if you do, dam ned if you don't.

Isn't it nice for people not from America to blame the world's ills on the US when their own country is too weak (militarily/economically etc) or spineless to take a role... It's better, rather than admitting their position and desire to help themselves first and foremeost, to blame the US...

So then call it what it is. Say "We`re looking after our own best interests". That is not what they say, they say "We`re promoting peace and freedom". What they are actually promoting is thier own version of peace and freedom, the "host" country doesn`t get a say in it. And the US version is not really very peaceful or very free. False advertising.
