I went to a Roger Waters concert in January of this year in Auckland. He sang the whole Dark Side of the Moon album. By far the best concert I've ever been to and that includes Tool, U2 and Metallica among others.
Sure Pink Floyd lost their way over the years but Waters was the key man, the backbone, for me he is the real Pink Floyd. |

Back in the '70s, I was an exchange student to Greece and lived in a village on the Aegean Sea. Three doors up from my host family's place was a house owned by one of the Pink Floyd members, although I don't remember which one. He never went there, though, as it was a gift from his first wife and his second didn't want him to have anything to do with it, so he lent it out to friends. At the time, there was a Dutch stage troupe there; I went there for dinner once--nice folks.
I listened to PF quite a bit back then and, like others, become a bit nostalgic when I hear one of their tunes nowadays, especially from DSOTM. |
