Wow. That was awesome! Did your kindy kids teach you that?

Look, I once lived in Korea and worked as a "teacher". I know how humiliating it is. What you need to do is not accept it as anything other than a temporary couple years of fun and booze before heading home to get your life in order.

You can do it.

Someday I hope to get my life in order so I can engage in flame wars with people I don't know on message boards unrelated to my daily life. That'll be sweet.

It is. Because when you do, you will comfortably know that the reason the other started it is his crushingly low self-esteem and resentment of those who escaped. You aren't lashing at me.. Noo. I was just trying to help. You are lashing at yourself.

Dude, if you've resorted to editing the posts instead of responding to them, all you've proved is that you've lost the argument.

I have a solid side-job going as a freelance reviewer of cell phones for a magazine. They send phones to me to use for 3 weeks and I say nice or really nice things about them. Right now I'm reviewing the O2 XDA Atomlife and next up is the Blackberry Curve. I reviewed, and plan to buy, the Blackjack. I would strongly recommend it.

But I don't speak 10yearold girl, so I don't know if the " Rolling Eyes " means you were being sarcastic or not.

Is this phone available now? I tried looking and all I could see was an advert and the cost.

i have seen it online for order, but i've yet to see it at a B&M store.
i want to see the software responsiveness before making my final decision as well. i like the design and the functionality so i'm very interested in getting one, but my previous experience with a particular Motorola phone (forgot the model, but i liked the design but the software was horribly slow!) makes me wary of buying a cellphone blind these days.

My cubicle neighbor has one. I just timed stuff for you.

7 seconds for camera to open.
6 seconds for web browser to open (still have to start wifi etc)
4 seconds for sms system to open.
8 seconds for media player to open (still have to load the file after that).

It is actually quite slow. The blackberry I have now is very fast in comparison.

Ok, I don't know if they are available in Korea, BUT.

The Palm Treo is stellar. The Blackberry Curve is magical. The Blackberry Pearl is wonderful.

If you want a good PDA phone, there is much selection. But maybe mercantilist Korea doesn't have much variety.

Does anyone know if I can bring my blackjack from the USA and use it in Korea? It's not actually tied to a contract stateside anymore, as I have a newer phone, but it is quadband and I bought it years ago thinking I might take it overseas.

Are there difficulties in getting a foreign phone hooked up if you bring it to Korea without a service contract on the phone?

Haha, I was wondering why there was a new post on a thread about this phone! I used it as a temporary phone last summer... wanted to chuck it in the Hangang!

If you'll be here for a while, get a real smart phone when you get over here. I couldn't tell you about bringing phones over, rumor has it it's possible now, but I know that smart phones in Korea have caught up, and some new phones (ie Android) are actually more affordable here than in the US.
