a PDA with a foldable keyboard would be good enough.
If you had a gmail account or you can use the free POP3 service on it and use an email client on your PDA or any other POP3 enabled account for that matter.
Why jump on the hype? |

Push email man - everything else uses polling email, which wastes battery and is freakin slow. Plus, blackberry keyboard layout is the best. Integration with outlook, calandar, tasks, address book - third party apps, messenger services, GPS, etc.
They are awesome - have you ever used one? |

Nah, I don't have this desperate urge to have people contacting me all the time. I don't turn my cell phone on or take it with me most of the time.
I can't imagine anything worse than being contactable wherever I am.
I used to not mind it but these days I like my freedom. |

Sure, if I could figure out a way to be accessible to my clients when they need me, to help the deals go through, without having to be in the office, or require invasive technologies like "cell phones", sure, I'd go for it.
But in the absence of the development of a psychic neural net that would tell me when to race the stroller home from the park and check my email, nothing's going to take away my desire for such a gizmo.
Ultimately, I need a way to convince my company to keep paying me for what I do without having to see me do it all the time.

| I seen so many business professional types, the well paid, have these in the states. When you take a flight, as soon as you land, everyone pulls out their Crackberry. They are already online with it before they deplane. It's all the rage in the jetset world. |

Good thread...
I may be interested in something like this too... I had an 8700c with Cinuglar a year ago in the states, and then left it home when I came to Korea...
Maybe I'll bring it back when I go home for vacation, and try to get a Korean SIM card... worth a shot anyway.
Only problem is...texting in Korean is probably a no-go (a shame, beause I really enjoy that!).... it may not even display Korean text! |
