Al-Qaida declares holy war on India

SRINAGAR, India A group claiming to represent the al-Qaida terror network declared a holy war on India over its partial control of the divided Himalayan region of Kashmir, Indian officials said Saturday.

A statement and video was sent Friday to the Current News Service, in Srinagar, the main city of Indias Jammu-Kashmir state, in which a masked man standing next to an automatic weapon read the declaration.

We declare righteous holy war against India on behalf of God the great in which Jammu and Kashmir will be the launch pad for holy war in India, said the statement signed by Abu Abdul Rehman al-Ansari, purportedly the chief of al-Qaida Fil Hind or al-Qaida in India.

Al-Qaida Fil Hand had not communicated anything since

Al-Qaeda 'issues France threat'

Zawahiri urges Algerian militants to crush "French crusaders"
Al-Qaeda's deputy leader has claimed that a radical Algerian Islamist group has joined al-Qaeda and is being urged to punish France, it has emerged.
Ayman al-Zawahiri appeared in a video on a website on the fifth anniversary of the 11 September attacks.

In the tape, he issued a warning of new attacks targeting Israel and the Gulf.

Although France's government opposed the US-led war in Iraq, French officials believe the country is still a target for Islamist militants.

In the video, Zawahiri says: "Osama Bin Laden has told me to announce to Muslims that the GSPC [the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat] has joined al-Qaeda," according to the transcript of his message given by the AFP news agency.

"This should be a source of chagrin, frustration and sadness for the apostates [of the regime in Algeria], the treacherous sons of [former colonial power] France."

I thought France stayed out of the Iraq war?

Alias it is the Caliphate.

Read your own source. He is talking about Algeria. Read up on the history. Muslim terrorism against France due to the Algerian question is nothing new. AQ trying to take an active part in this is not surprising.

Um usually there is only one guy in the martyr videos. So do you have any evidence that he did it to help the caliphate take over Spain? No?

you mean if there was no iraq war then he would have been peaceful.

Quote:

Why did he get into radicalism. After all the Madrid bombings were just a short time after the US took down Saddam?

Quote:
He was obviously a fundie before the Iraq War. So?

so was he going to remain peaceful?

Nope. Rolling Eyes[/quote]

it starts in the mideast but it doesn't stop there.

No, you're right. Their goal is all Muslim nations in southeast Asia.

and Timor wasn't an Islamic nation.

I know it was traditionally Roman Catholic but it was annexed by Indonesia in 1976. So my guess is that the Islamic Fundies will claim it as part of their territory.

Like Cambodia? and Singapore? They aren't muslim lands

anyway Jemaah Islamiyah is connected to Al Qaeda.

And if the US has trade relations or diplomatic relations with Cambodia and Singapore? Or votes the way they don't like?

It never stops until the Caliphate becomes a reality.

and the concept of the Caliphate gets bigger.

Al Qaeda fights until they get the Caliphate or they are destroyed.

If Spain did not participate in the Iraq War he probably would have directed his fundie anger elsewhere. Probably gone to Iraq to martyr himself against US soldiers.

In the meantime the Spainish know that the reason his group committed the bombings was because of their participation in the Iraq war. They are very relieved that the new government did the right thing and pulled out troops. Spain is safer because of it.

Still have to wait for Sweden or Switzerland to get bombed for trading with Israel. Canada has a free trade partnership with Israel. Never heard of any threats over that.

One of the theses of his most recent book, Imperial Hubris, a New York Times bestseller, was that from bin Laden's perspective, the U.S. was attacked on 9/11 and will continue to be attacked because of a number of grievances against the U.S. and other western countries. These grievances include: U.S. support of Israel and its indifference to the Palestinians, presence of U.S. and western troops on the Arabian Peninsula, occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan by the U.S. and its allies, the U.S. support of countries that oppress Muslims (such as Russia, India and China), U. S. political pressure on Arab states to keep oil prices low and U.S. support for tyrannical governments.

The US occupies Afghanistan cause of 9-11 okay .

But look at this

Quote:
U.S. support of countries that oppress Muslims (such as Russia, India and China)

Does the US help Russia oppress muslims? how about China ? Does the US help China oppress muslims? Does the US help India oppress muslims?

The US pressures mideast regimes to keep oil prices low?

I know the US supports some tyrannical governments Arab governments (though not really very much) , but there are others the like Syria and Libya that are just as tyrannical that the US does not support.

Bin Laden will blame the US if the weather is bad. And they will go after the US cause they want the US out of the mideast so they can get the Caliphate.

I don't buy such unsupported fearmongering. Neither do the Spainish people.

Talking to Joo about Operation Second Term is like talking to a crazy fundamentalist about anything. He'll keep throwing assumptions and poorly related topics at you in hopes of clouding the real problem:

He strongly came out in support for an invasion that has proven to be an utter failure. He was wrong and believed lies, and his ego won't let him admit that mistake.

That's why he keeps resorting to fear-mongering. Despite the majority of people having caught on to the tactic, it's all he and his ilk have left.

lAL Qaeda website urges attacks on Canada

Updated Wed. Mar. 31 2004 11:33 PM ET

CTV.ca News Staff

Canada has been named again in a chilling new call to arms from al Qaeda. A posting found this week on an al Qaeda website places Canada fifth on a target list.

The website is believed to be published by senior al Qaeda figure, Saif al-Adel. It calls on followers to attack Canadians and other westerners at home and abroad.

Experts warn it could be only a matter of time before Canada is hit. Several other countries named on the list -- such as Spain and Australia -- have already been attacked. Terror experts warn that Canadians have a false sense of security.

"We're a target. We're very clearly in its crosshairs," says John Thompson of the Mackenzie Institute.

One 9-11 was enough. It showed that the middle east needed to be taken care of.

If the US had invaded Afghanistan before 9-11 you and your ilk would have been calling it an illegal war and a war crime.

But actually if you want to know the real reason for this post. Is that the anti war (only by the US) movement keeps saying that Al Qaeda attacked the US on 9-11 only because of aggressive US policy towards muslims. When the real reason that Al Qaeda fights is cause they want the US out of the mid east so they can conquer it for themselves, but Al Qaeda's demands and designs don't stop there.
