Mosley:

Thanks for acknowledging my post about games. Video games are not "the end all to be all," as they say.

Monopoly is great, especially with a bottle of Jack Daniels. Instead of paying luxury taxes, you take a shot of whiskey. Livens things up.

Convinced my high school social studies teacher many, many moons ago that if he wanted to keep his seniors engaged in learning (it was late May by then), he should let us play RISK as a means of international role play. The guy was so desperate he actually went along with the idea.

I played CandyLand when I was a kid. Remember that one?

Can't think of any Canadian board games I learned to play....

But my favorite is another kind of game, not using a board but a broad. It's called "Hide the Sausage."

Thanks, Steve...even though my post was mainly about going along with the fun of the OP's...ahem...academic...ahem...link. Wink

A great Canadian board game original is TRIVIAL PURSUIT. I once knew a haughty university leftist who said(after I kicked his ass at TRIVIAL PURSUIT) "Well! You know, being good at games like TR or Jeopardy! are not signs of intelligence!" I replied to said comrade:"So, being good at those games are a sign of stupidity?!!" He huffed & puffed, stormed away and I never saw him again...much to my betterment.
