I hear is pronounced as ee boo pro pin

It is not even close to being as effective as sweet Advil. I brought a huge economy sized bottle here, but it has long been empty. I too would be interested in buying Advil, not any other brand.

Ibuprofen is indeed what you want. It is an anti-inflammatory (NSAID). You can also get Celebrex here with a perscription. If you hadn't been told before, remember to take NSAIDs about 30 minutes after food. I keep antacids around too.

Another thing that helps with arthritis is both heat and cold, when it's painful and achey - heat, when it's painful and swollen - use ice, compression and elevation. Use either for only 20 minutes at a time.

Removing alchohol, smoking, starch and refined sugars has proven to reduce the inflamation caused by arthritis. Of course some studies show that having a few drinks a week (red wine seems to be the booze of choice) may actually reduce swelling as well. Medicine seems contradictory sometimes.

Try eating a really healthy diet, high in vegetables and protein with only some starch. Some people cut starch out 100%, as well as lactose, and refined sugar, as well as anything acidic.

NSAIDs are hard on your stomach and may actually do damage to your stomach (and friends) and eventually lead to more arthritis (arthritis has been in some cases traced to the stomach).

good luck

Thanks very much for your help. I bought ibuprofen at a local pharmacist's yesterday. Then I went to E-mart last night and bought some there. Hard to believe, but the medicine from E-mart's pharmacy beat the other one hands down. I also bought some naproxen today, just to see if it will work better. Adding to your other good advice, I'm going to get acupuncture treatments beginning tomorrow. Glad to know Celebrex is available here. I wonder how much it costs. It is so prohibitively expensive back in the U.S.

celebrex isn't too bad here, it can be really pricey if you don't have a medical card. I had to pay about 100,000won for a month before I got my medical card.

Also some suppliments are said to help, glucosomine (maybe spelled it wrong) can be purchased at an ok price in Costco. Vitamins (c and b) seem to help, as well as fish oil and omega 3.

ilovecookie is a few blocks from Jeongja Station in Bundang. A lot of different buses go to Jeongja Station: (according to Naver) 300, 500, 520, 1005-2, 1303, 5501, and I'd suspect there are others, too.

Go out of Exit 4 of the subway station and walk down the street one block until you come to the corner with the Equus car dealership (it's in a big apartment building that says Paragon on the side). Turn left and walk half a block to the Baskin Robbins, and turn right. You'll walk underneath the archways. I don't recall exactly what building it's in, but as you're going under the archways you'll see it on the left.
