I love that question.
I wonder how some liberals have decided to support RP despite the fact that he doesn't support government research on alternative energy. |
I assume it's because they are concerned with the environment itself, and don't care about who is in charge of fixing it up as long as it gets fixed up. It's no conflict of interest if a person believes that state governments and private industry can do a better job (because they do, look at the agreements between American states and American provinces that get pushed through despite a reluctant central government).

Ooh, the Cut-N-Run bill. I like making names for bills too. Don't forget that McCain voted AGAINST the Let's Make America Awesome Bill. Why he voted against a bill that I gave such a cool nickname to, I'll never know. |

How about: Paul Wins Maryland (McCain Finishes Fifth)?
Instead the paper hangers chose to downplay his endorsement |
It was an Arizona newspaper. |

My guess is Ron Paul will have the fewest but the most intense supporters among all the candidates. He doesn't do so well in the mainstream media polls (http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/2008/candidates/Ron-Paul.html). I don't have any numbers to back this up but I'd guess that mainstream news watchers are more likely to vote than the people who get their news from other sources.
Also, the article doesn't say anything about how the straw poll was conducted. If it was anything like this one, (http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20070818/LATEST/70818015) I'd imagine the results are pretty deceptive. |

I dunno but the for the most part private industry isn't going to be enough to get the US on the road to alternative energy for a long time.
Look at the car companies they still are against minimum gas milage standards. And it will cost billions to change the infrastructure if the US before the US switches to fuel cells.
He not only won't raise the gas tax he wants to get rid of it.
I don't think you in your heart of hearts think his thinking will get the US on the road to alternative energy. |

Ron Paul votes against everything he feels is not directly permitted by the constitution. Barney Frank, my other favorite American Pol has said that Paul is among the most easy people to work with for this reason. Paul has his principles and he sticks with them.
Joo, read up on what libertarians believe and why. You are missing some big chunks here. |
I think results are more imporant than principles.
And I would also add that not only do libertarians have no idea what is going on , they are not really interested in what is going on. They only care about their principles and if everyone suffers because of that well that is ok with them.
In my opinion libertarians just want to suck the blood out of the country and do nothing to help. |

Joo, everything you say about Economic matters has been proven wrong, mathematically, for over 100 years. The marginalist school and Austrian school of economics has analyzed and explained all these issues. It is taught in major economics departments. The socialist ideas you advocate are the same as Bin Laden and have all been proven wrong. You need to go back to school and stop wasting time reposting the same nonsense here, over and over.
Even the Soviet Union had a major economic research effort for over 3 decades to try to find a model under which socialist economics would succeed. They proved over and over again in these studies that only a free market will provide for the right amount of goods and services to be both produced and consumed. Only the free market could reach the proper eqilibrium. This research was the primary reason that Gorbachev wanted to open up the Soviet system to market forces. THEY knew that socialism doesn't work.
So why don't you? Because you believe in Santa Claus, the Caliphate, and Socialism.
If you can fool anyone of the people all of the time, Joo, it's you. You are the governmental charlatan's best friend. |

Your opinion that evidence is opinion is only your uninformed opinion.
I don't have to prove to you that the world is round. It is. If you don't know that, you need to go back to school.
My evidence is fact that every educated person should know. |

Joo, if you want to learn what educated people know, you shouldn't come to Dave's, you should go to a good school and study economics.
You cannot Google an education. |

No worries OTW:
Joo's simply our friendly professional neighbourhood Zionist. disinfo-agent, provocateur & chief double-speaker.
Expect little sound logic, yet many obvious fallacies & childish EGO-based attacks.
Kids apparently picked on him a lot as a youth; suffered from an emotionally dys-functional upbringing that he has yet to manage to overcome
What's perhaps most troubling about it all is that he has chosen to make a living from it |
