I wish Dave would upgrade. I like the look of eslcafe but not too crazy about the personality of the board over there. I won't join because they seem even worse than the most jaded here at Dave's.

It's back to the old design now. Much better. They must've read or had direct complaints. It was fking hurting my eyes.

I play about on both, and I have to say that I still prefer the layout here on Dave's in many ways. You get a better overview of what is going on, and who needs all the flashy gimmicks of the new boards. Dave's is just fine the way it is.

I wish we had larger inboxes though for those of us who enjoy a lot of private messaging here.

Appears to be a slight bug in the menu:

If I pull down the Stuff For Teachers link, then choose Korean Job Forum, it gives me a choice for the Q&A forum, which isn't really there. It goes to Travel instead.

Looks like Dave has re-jigged the banner again (11:00 am Friday). This one seems okay. Not so obtrusive. Just a flat line of jpeg's about 5cm's deep. I can live with that.

Bah! It's back. But it's not quite as bad as yesterday's monstrosity, I suppose.

I still think it's too big, and it would be way improved if they would remove the strip with the pictures of elephants and palm trees etc. All that is just not necessary once in you're in the forums.

Grr.. Admittedly, they are nice photos, but who's the menu bar for???
Obviously we all figured out how to navigate the site and know what wealth of knowledge exists here.
We can find what we need without it being on every bloody page.
At least put it at the bottom.

I think thsi was his plan all along

first he makes something a noob wouldn't even do, making it glaringly ugly, and then he puts on something that might be acceptable.

This way everyone will be glad.

So basically, doing something lousy and then undoing it is more laudable than doing something good and making people happy. That actually does make sense.
