Ukranians drink alot. All day. There is booze everywhere. They sell vodka using graduated cylanders and plastic cups. You can drink beer on the buses and movie theaters. They seem to have a closed container law. I got busted for snoozing in the sun again.

Sounds like Russia, except that you can have open containers in Russia.

I heard from an American friend of mine who had lived in both Ukraine and Russia that they were very similar. He seemed to say that Ukrainians were more laid-back, which wouldn't be hard to do considering the Russians are some of the least laid-back people in the world.

I like girls with bad teeth more than fat girls because you can fix the teeth much problem much easier.

Ukranians are nice Russians but seriously, they are a different people.

I had prune juice soda today.

I drank espresso at independence square all day yesterday. How continental.

I take back anything bad that I said about Kiev. Its gorgeous and lively. Independence Square is a major scene. I found the Bohemian quarter.
the harass the homeless, the cops spend alot of time telling people to move along. Hostel business is booming, if you ever wanted one, this might be a good place.

Odessa the Tropical playground of the Soviet elite? Where did you get that idea? I believe Yalta and Sochi where the getaway spots, I have never heard of anybody Ukie, Ruskie or other refer to Odessa as anything more than an industrial port city with serious organized crime problems. If you want to see the real Ukraine try Lviv or areas in the Karpaty region. The further west you go the more Ukrainian things will get.

Hi - Sorry for the delay in the response. The whole Black Sea region is considered a "balmy" area and thus a getaway although admittedly its not entirely a tropical one. Odessa houses an international elite class that moves according to the seasons as well as the organized crime you mentioned. These people are called "snowbirds".

There are several tiers of resort areas. Hawaii being top tier, New Jersey being a lower tier. Odessa is a lower tier resort area but a resort area none-the-less. Considering Russia's brutal winters, Odessa actually moves up a notch on a relative scale.

Thats where I got that idea from.

Bucharest - the stray abandoned kids, the cheat taxi drivers, the "guides"
made me run away from the train station. I fell in love more in the Ukraine then Romania for whats thats worth. The Romanians have distinctive noses.
Romania was dumbly cheap away from Bucharest.

I got busted twice laying in the sun here. No laying in the sun in the Ukraine. No sir!

So Ukraine was all around better than Romania?

So you are in Poland now?
