I think it all depends on how much stuff he takes here. If he just wants to take some clothes,and not extra stuff, then it is worth it to take his computer.
Some people come here with hardly anything. If that is the case, I say bring it. Let him save the 500,000 or 600 or what ever he has to spend. and the search for what he needs. If he wants to get a better system, he will have to spend more then that.
I say let him bring it, and if hw wants some extra memory, then he can just buy it here. |

| I have a 24 inch iMac which is huge and great for watching movies but I'm think it will be majorly impractical for next year. I've thought extensively about shipping it, but would it be worth shipping it or just selling it and getting a nice laptop that I can take on the plane with me? |

| I would try selling it in the buy/sell forums. You'll get offers. They may be half of what it's worth, but you'll get offers. |
