I voted Hillary.
Ron Paul has some merits, but at the end of the day, he's crazy.

A private company would have a lot more incentive to do the job correctly. Gov't beauracrats don't have their money on the table.

| That being said, Hillary has the strongest laissez-faire policies of the Democrats besides Bill Richardson. All the Republican candidates are supply-siders right now, so even Greenspan won't give them the time of day. Hillary is the best choice for our nation's economy. But if I were to vote in the GOP primary I'd vote for Ron Paul. |

What the economy needs is a hard dose of reality. Hillary ain't gonna give you that. Paul will shake things to their core, which is what America is going to have to deal with, whether it likes it or not. The world has passed the good ol' U S of A, and to watch it unravel in the coming months is going to be something to see... |

Ron Paul Odds Standing At 6 to 1
Now Favored Over Romney
Public pushes Ron Paul odds down even further this week
Forget those political polls.
Throughout time (at least the last decade), oddsmakers have had
an uncanny knack for predicting political races.
It's not so much that they have a crystal ball, rather the lines adjust based on public action.
When it comes to political betting, the public action is presumed to represent votes.
The theory being that someone who is likely to vote on Mitt Romney
probably won't bet on Ron Paul winning.

| republicans don't like ron paul because he actually stands FOR things instead of just ON things... he's identified the problems with the US system (the central bank being the most interesting and meaningful, IMO) and wants to change them ASAP... i think this is the only way to remedy the downward spiral that the US (and much of the west) is finding itself mired in... |

Ron Paul Raises $5 Million For Bid
By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Long-shot Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul raised a surprising $5 million during the past three months, capitalizing on his stance as the only anti-war contender in the GOP field.

Paul Campaign Raises Over $5,000,000 In Third Quarter
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 3, 2007
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA -- The Ron Paul 2008 presidential campaign raised
$5,080,000 during the third quarter of 2007. That is an impressive
114 percent increase from the second quarter.
Cash on hand for the Paul campaign is $5,300,000.
"Dr. Paul's message is freedom, peace and prosperity," said Paul
campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "As these fundraising numbers show,
more Americans each day are embracing Dr. Paul's message."
Ron Paul's 114 percent increase is in stark contrast to the decrease suffered by Mitt Romney,
Rudy Giuliani, and John McCain.
Romney's fundraising was down 29 percent. Giuliani was down 40 percent.
McCain was down 55 percent. |

What is Paul's position on alternative energy and gas taxes and minimum millage standards? Do the enemies of the US world wide want the US to import more and use less oil or more oil? |

CNBC Learns Not To 'Mess With' Ron Paul, Followers
David Edwards and Muriel Kane
Published: Tuesday October 16, 2007
del.icio.us
CNBC Washington correspondent John Harwood asked former Representative Joe Scarborough on Tuesday to tell him what Rep. Ron Paul is really like, because he's been amazed to discover lately that "if you mess with Ron Paul on television or online, you are going to feel the wrath of some serious followers."
Harwood explained that when CNBC did an online poll of who won the last GOP presidential debate on October 9, "Ron Paul dominated the debate, and some of my colleagues at CNBC thought that there was something wrong with that and they took the poll down. I want to tell you, my email box, thousands and thousands and thousands of email, like I haven't seen from any other -- you know, followers of Chris Dodd or Bill Richardson or Joe Biden."

Ron Paul wants to use less foreign oil, he just understands that increasing taxes is not the proper way to do it...
the real way to reduce oil consumption is to stop subsidizing things that oil companies depend upon (e.g. roads, cars, wars) and make oil companies pay for these things (instead of the taxpayers), who will pass the FULL cost of oil on to the consumer... the price of oil will naturally increase, and consumption will decrease, with LESS taxes, LESS spending, and LESS bureaucracy! |

...If Ron Paul won, first of all it would demonstrate the existence of a capricious god. It would also go a long way to prove that there is a secret cabal behind the curtains pulling the strings.
I'm trying to remember when the last time a great state had a fruitcake in charge. One that comes to mind is Caligula. Robert Graves' 'I, Claudius' might return to the best seller lists with people wanting to know what that experience is like. Another one that comes to mind is that king of France who thought he was made of glass. Can't think of his name.
I am curious how much of the hostility to Senator Clinton seen around here is just cheap-jack sexism from insecure males. |

Clinton Woos Labor
AP - Mon Nov 12, 12:20 PM ET
DUBUQUE, Iowa - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton told union activists Monday she would call
a "time out" on trade agreement if she wins the White House to see if the deals are draining jobs from the U.S.

This is so true, and would be so effective. But the partisan robots will never get it. It doesn't fit the comfortable and stage managed Dem/Repub line. |
