I misunderstood the OP. It seems he wants a handheld GPS indicator which does latitude and longitude points. right?
I thought he wanted a car Sat/Nav. A korean model can be had for as little as 250,000. |

lol ... i just read this discussion and it was rather confusing!
but it doesn't help that koreans say 'gps' meaning a radar detector ... and navigation seems to be anything with a tv screen.
but any handheld gps device (eg garmin) will work globally. this is because the signal is bounced off satellites ... so there's no issues with coverage.
a good one can be had for as little as $100 ... and they're indispensable for travelling and trekking about the place. |

in korea??? koreans have problems. they have this belief that anything foreign is somehow luxurious (unless it's from china, because the chinese can make things that koreans refuse to make - since it's below their superior social status).
so, getting to my point, koreans will stick luxury taxes on imported items ... and sellers will mark up the price nearly 100%.
a classic example is that i wanted a sealife underwater digital camera. they were available in korea for about $360. i got one off amazon for $200 (with postage) ... which was recommended retail price.
i don't understand how the price can some how be jacked up $160.
a nice garmin unit (that i have my eye on) is available on amazon for $90.

get it shipped to korea and you've got a gps for around 100,000 won.
i haven't seen many of these in korea. so i honestly don't know where i could get a similar one. enuri and danawa dont seem to have many either. |

Please let us know if you find a business that will ship a GPS to Korea for $10.
When I have researched this, they either will not ship a GPS for export (not just the US, but GB, etc.) or they charge $90 or more for shipping.
And I have not seen any handheld hiking-type GPS units in any stores in Korea.
Anyone?
$10 shipping???? Sold!!!! |

To Korea?
Or to the Continental United States?
Let us know when you actually get one sent to you in Korea. And how much the duty is?
Thanks! |

| West marine ships to Korea. The garmin unit mentioned above is under $125 including shipping so it is duty free entering Korea. |

I don't think so.
West Marine wants $42.15 for shipping on the 99.99 Garmin GPS, which probably weighs about a pound, including the box.
Nice try. |

really? that's pricey!
i've shipped bigger items from the states for only $18. so i find it hard to believe that such a small gps unit would be so expensive to ship. |

I found an even better deal:
Garmin eTrex Legend Outdoor Explorer Handheld GPS
Only US $0.01! Pretty good deal!
Plus $38 shipping.
But it's factory refurbished.
Anyone every used eBay before? I wonder if I could get 20 of them shipped for the same $38? |

Yeah, I'm pretty happy to find a price like that.
I am not sure how our finances are going to stand up to this month (wifes in hospital after appendix removal), so I will try a search again next month when things settle down.
열어분,Thanks for help,
Ken |
