Vanessa,,

Are you OK.?

I''m checking my email for the first time since we got to the islands, And there is nothing from You.

No thank you for the money. No date you will coming to meet me in Miami,

Nothing.

This makes me sad and worried at the same time.

I was so happy to find a computer in the office of this restaurant to read your emails...and now I don't even think I'll be able to eat my dinner.

PLEASE....PLEASE darling, let me know you're OK and you've made reservations for Miami.

We're leaving the islands tomorrow night. Maybe you could meet me Thursday?

Yes, Thursday will be perfect my love.OK?

I haven't been able to stop thinking about you this whole trip.

Fly in Thursday for sure my love. I just can't wait any longer.

LOVE,
J

Ok I'll bite.
2 possibilities both quite entertaining and creative

1) this is for real and given the scumbags in the world readers are chomping at thebit to see come uppencen for them. So keep it it.

2) This is a fabricated creative story to catch world readers ( from 1) and entertain them but in reality Merlot is in effect playing various characters, with the intelligent research to construct full characters to Con the readers of this board. Perhaps con is not the word but hey...

Either situation is both entertaining and kudos given

Sorry if this insults but in all honesty i am still 50:50 ish but if it is 2 i am quite able to laugh at myself for being conned for perhaps 7 pages

i even mentioned it in a post awhile back.

it's all real, i assure you, unless, that is, you believe that kate and jen are living in a condo i bought them in miami,

nice 'thinking out of the box' skills you have.

Well, so my character is in the Bahamas right now, along with luscious Kate (the dynamics of our relationship have shifted dramatically in the romance aspect) and her wealthy father.

We are scheduled to fly back into Florida tonight.

My character has to play the part of assuming Vanessa got her money, and , of course, I have not received her last email.

Now, as much as island settings conjure up such happenings as shark attacks, pirate raids and shipwrecksIll lose her with anymore sensational stories at this point; so I must keep the storyline to one of a more of a realistic nature at this point..

The obvious way to do this is to return to Florida finding Jennifer and all her things gone from the condono note, nothing.

Then, Ill have to explain to Vanessa what happened and once again take the apologetic posture.

It occurs to me that I do have a contact in London now, Tony, who could be instrumental in the sting aspect, but since Vanessa does not really exist---getting her to surface seems a daunting task-- nonetheless, is worthy of strategic thought.

Come to think of it, I should email Tony and welcome him to the story as a top-hierarchy playerhis characterhimself, of course.

So, those are my thoughts at this point; Ill tighten up my strategy before emailing Vanessa this evening. Its 3 pm in Costa Rica and a little chicken joint with cold beer is calling my name with mouth-watering enthusiasm.

Cheers!

Hi Tony,

I hope this email finds you well.

Thanks again for your help; your insight has helped me with my strategy greatly.

My root problem is, obviously, since Vanessa doesnt exist, I have yet to figure out how to get anyone from their organization to surface; but as the clich states: when there is a will, there is a way.

And by the way, welcome to the story! You are, of course, playing yourself and are a top-hierarchy player (as defined in my analysis of this new genre under a recent post).

I reviewed your website as was most impressed with the quality and the diversity of your work,

Regards,
Jay

Dear Vanessa,

What is going on in your head, sweetums? I trust Jen, so you should trust Jen. If you can't trust Jen then you can't be part of our luscious foursome!

I second this motion. However, users should be encouraged to PM the OP so as not to offend The Dude as his spirit lives on

Quite a funny thread!

My two main gripes are with you though OP.

First, I can't believe that you thought the Serious Fraud Office would be interested in this. As yet, there has been no fraud. Conspiracy to defraud, yes, but very little other that a few emails. This hardly warrants the involvement of the Serious fraud office as it only involves 2,500, which lets face it, is not a serious amount of money.

Secondly, to think that English newspapers are interested in printing half-stories such as this shows a serious lack of maturity and understanding of the quality of the British press. I can see the headline now - 'Internet geek exchanges emails with Nigerian scammer!'. Nothing has happened or will happen with this, so I can see why The Sun would not be interested, hell, even the Daily Sport wouldn't be interested!

As for your half cocked plan to get someone to catch the scammer in the act, well it's just absurd.

If you really wanted to play out your little game why don't you actually send them a token amount ($1) via Western Union?
