Ah so because you didn't see it, I'm must be lying? Nice logic.
It may be just that you're grossly mistaken and sadly misinformed.
I hope you can understand Korean, the video I watched is here:

유흥업소 도우미로 일하며 상습적으로 필로폰을 투약한 여고생과 이들에게 필로폰을 팔아온 조폭 등이 무더기로 경찰에 적발됐습니다.
보도에 강성원 기자입니다.
<리포트>

Canada? you serious... come on man...
of course Korea.... why the hell would you want to torture your kids by letting them be bought up there among the thugs, drugs, gangs, crime, etc..
Korea is a power house, it's rich, safe and no drugs.,
come on man.. do you seriously need to guess yourself..
ohh and home school? seriously? come on man.. at least give your kids a memory of being in elementary school , making friends and all that... |

Really, do you have a lot of experience raising kids in Canada?

Having raised kids in both, I would opt for Asia for young learners and Canada for High School and University.
I would never raise another child in the states. Our time spent in Phoenix (Scottsdale) was bad enough that I would never send a child back to school there.

Not to worry, I'll be there the next time your logic fails.... yet again. |
I'm quite happy to be in the company of those that agree with me in this thread as opposed to those that do not.

I'm sorry, but who would that be? Which posters have come in here and said "Korea...absolutely!"?
Most of the posters, it seems, have either said Canada, or that there are pros and cons to each option.
You seem to be mostly alone in your ignorant assertion that it MUST be Korea. |
Finally, I called you a name and had a post deleted. Again I find it next to impossible to carry on a conversation with someone that distorts and lies. I think it pretty obvious that you have a problem with me and not what I said. So really there is nothing I can say. Run along and fight your next internet battle.
|
I have a problem with that you said. You voiced an absolute about something you don't know about.
How hard is that for you to figure out? You've NEVER lived in Canada, so how the frak are you positioned to judge the place?
You can list about the joys you have raising kids in Korea, THAT you have experience with, but if you have no experience in Canada, how can you say one is assuredly better than the other?
You talk about distorting things and lying... by all means... show what I've distorted and lied about. Show it.
Go for it.
Your posts here have been very clear... and your first one is typical or your drive-by style. It's You who have been trying to distort by claiming I bash Korea.
Seriously? You're calling me out as a Korea Basher?
Me?
Look again through this thread and see where I've done that.
I think I've been quite balanced, civil, and even in my opinions.
You cannot say the same.

Classic Dave's post. I'm sure Capt. Corea will agree with it.
Korea all bad. West superior. Chest thump. Yea Dave's. Thanks for the laughs.
Wait! I forgot, if you are actually raising a child here in the public school system then you're a bad parent!!!
Okay I've had enough laughs for one night. God I love Dave's where a bunch of anonymous freeks can offer up such entertaining commentary.

Look at this post. You clearly misrepresent my posts on this thread. And then you go so far as to troll and call everyone names just because they don't agree with you.

No Drugs + No Guns + No Nonsense = Korea |
You must have missed the news a couple days ago, where it was reported there is a growing problem with amphetamine dealing in Korean high-schools. One of the most harmful and addictive drugs available. Gangs are also a growing problem, causing most of the violence in schools. Guns are not an issue in Canada, and who needs guns when knives, metal bars and fists will do enough damage. |
And yet one third of all murders in Canada are committed with guns.
|
More like 29%. Stabbing accounts for even more than a third, which means knives seem to be the issue.
99% of the murders in Korea are committed without guns, and Korea ranks higher in murders/capita than Canada.
http://todochido.com/news-politics/18741-murders-per-capita-most-recent-country.html |
Korea has more murders than Canada??
Seriously??
Geez, you'd think that someone who speaks about Canada like they have absolute knowledge of the place (TJ) would know more about it. |

You seem to be a bit misinformed about the risks in Korea... but cresent seems to be having that discussion with you so..., I'm curious about your experiences with kids in Korea vs. Canada?
Mind sharing about how you're finding raising your kids here vs. in Canada? |

Hey UrbanMyth: Holy crap you need to learn to read.
In the post you were referring to I said the following:
"How dense are you that you can't see the hundreds of thousands of families who send their kids overseas to study?"
Do you see the part that says "send their kids overseas to study?" I did not say the families went overseas to study, and a kid going overseas to study is a STUDENT!!!! That's what they call them, you know?
When I said this, I was referring to all kids (students) who go overseas to study, K through grad school.
In an earlier post, I said many Koreans emigrate from Korea to other countries, and this is very true. Were it not true, we would not see nearly the number of Koreans that we do living in places like LA and NY (among others). We would also not see so many gyopos, as the majority of them are not adopted, but are children of those who left Korea.
Koreans still leave Korea, but not nearly as many as did so in the past. Nevertheless, the majority of Koreans feel the education system here has failed and those who can educate their kids outside of Korea. For those who can't afford it, a very great number wish they could send their kids to another country, or afford to send them to an international school here.
That all sounds like a splendid reason to raise kids here. Let's raise them in a country where most locals wish they could educate their kids in a different country. Good grief! |
