Slander? Anonymous screen names which are on a screen? Anyways you viciously insult people with really low blows all the time but then when someone does it back to to you you call foul. You're a hypocrite of the highest order. Anyways, get back to us when you have something interesting and insightful to say. (Might be a while.)

Disagree about what? That the BA+4/MA+2 rule is unfair? It is unfair (to students). Is it or isn't it?

TheMeerkatLover was not making the point life is unfair but rather claiming those who work in universities "earned" their position. How did they "earn" it by slipping in when hiring standards were incredibly low? They didn't. Which is why they should not look down on those newer than them who don't hold a university position.

Well, this is only true if they haven't learned to teach and improved their teaching through trial and error over the years. As for what's right and what's wrong, Korea couldn't meet the demand and had to hire whomever. Those who have been here for years and didn't learn to teach need to be let go. Those who have learned to teach ought to be able to stay (regardless of qualification).

Still, those schools that want PHD's and don't pay at least 4 to 5 million won deserve to be ignored. I hope anyone with a Master's wouldn't accept less than 3.5 with no housing and even a Bachelor's degree with Korea teaching experience wouldn't take less than 3.0 to 3.1 with no housing. Anyone who accepts such a BS posting with a BS wage must ultimately have no self respect. To each their own. I wouldn't take it.
