On the bright side, alot of women like a man that's been in prison. Work with that and things may actually have turned in your favour.

Hey.. i just read your thread.. i am glad things worked out for you in the end. I wouldnt want anyone going threw that process unless they forged their credentials..

There is another thread related to this one about "Would you rat on someone who was working illegally?"

Just look at what this guy went threw and maybe yes it was partially or all his fault.. but still i wouldnt rat on anyone who was working illegally unless they were a complete fake.. i.e. fraud.. ect..

Good luck to you man.

What up people?, just dropping a line to let you know that i'm back and i'm legit. The one thing i've learnt regarding the korean immigration system is that nothing is a certainty, you never really know whats going to happen when running up against these guys, could be good, could be *beep*.

ALSO!!!!! Beware of EXTREMELY paranoid people over here regarding immigration laws. On this forum and in person i have met people who have no idea what they are talking about but want to contribute none the less to look good or whatever.

So how did you learn that u could be legit? I have said a few things about Immigration but those are from my own experiences.

You or anyone else should not expect anyone to know what they are talking about with Immigration, when Immigration themselves often say the exact opposite from reality?

They did with me on more than one occasion in-person, on black and white issues! They could never have been more wrong.

I chanced it, just the normal way really, i hooked up with a recruiter, fed exed my gears and 10 days later flew out from sydney australia with a brand spanking new E2.

One question though, i'm now in the process of getting my ARC, whats the deal with this, do they look through your history in korea and possibly deny you getting an ARC and kick you out or is an ARC just a standard stamp and recieve tpe thing. Please reply if you know what the deal is from experience, not based on heresay. Cheers!.

The clearance process was all taken care of when you got your "visa confirmation number". If there was going to be any problem it would have occured at that time.

The ARC is just the formatlity of registering yourself as a foreigner in the country. Hence "Alien Registration Number". It is also the same number you will have on your NHIC (national medical) and pension number. Pretty much stamp and receive.

It will ALSO be the same number that you had before if you were previously registered on your last sojourn.

Don't sweat it dude... it's all good from here on in.
Chin up and look the part there Songsangnim.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
