Crazylemongirl: You are refering to crater lake in Mt Ngauruhoe, right? Give us a clue ^^ Wink
?

A homeless looking guy made it famous

Mt. Ngauruhoe is Peter Jackson's "Mt. Doom" (a la "Lord of the Rings").

Ok, now I feel better. I've never seen Lord of the Rings so I would never have guessed, not in a million and two years ^^ Smile Of course, I realise I may have to relinquish my NZ citizenship because I'm probably the only person to have never seen any of the three LotR movies, and if not that, then most likely the only kiwi to have never seen Meet the Feebles, Heavenly Creatures, any of the LOTR trilogy, Braindead or any of PJ's other films. Looks like there are no fresh unsolved coordinates in this thread at the moment, so here's one:

11d 35' 53" N, 165d 23' 54" E

There are two famous things about it.

I'm guessing Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Famous for US nuclear tests & as a Japanese military outpost in WWII.

PS... please note the EDIT in my post above. Wink

Well, I wasn't thinking about the Japanese outpost part, I was thinking more of the 2 piece bathing suit, AKA the bikini. Wink

At the Musee Rodin:

Question

If I'm right, here's an easy one that's only marginally famous, but where I'd (almost) give my right arm to be this Saturday:

4015'27.45"N, 11139'17.58"W
