You're starting to sound like a Leafs fan.

I just had a thought- anyone know how often the Googel Earth satellite photos for the US are updated? I'm wondering if it's possible- now or in the near future- to see Katrina... |

Dunno, but I did notice that CNN used Google Earth this morning on their report (the images were pre-hurricane though).
As for your coordinates:
UBC Museum of Anthropology...and a very cool design it is too:

Hey you found it! I went looking for it by scrolling along the general area and came up with bumpkis. Did you do the same or did you find the coordinates posted?
I'll leave the naming of it for somebody else to have a chance to jump in and play. |

I just scrolled around a bit. It was in one of the more well-defined sections. This was the second time I looked, so I don't know if the area had been updated or if I just didn't look carefully enough the first time. |

Some info:
The low-resolution pictures are in fact done by satellite and they graphically edit out the cloud cover.
The high-resolution photos are taken by airplane.
GoogleEarth wrote: |
Not all cities are covered in high resolution (where you can see individual buildings and cars) detail. We have more imagery of the United States than other countries currently. And because the imagery comes from a variety of sources, and is mosaic-ed together, it is difficult for us to specify the date of a city or region (a single city may have imagery taken from different months).
We are adding high resolution coverage continually, but we are not able to tell you when a specific area will be covered. The best way to find out if your area of interest is covered is to download the free version of Google Earth and check it out for yourself (Google Earth, Google Earth Plus, and Google Earth Pro share access to the same database). |
For Hurricane Katrina, this page (http://earth.google.com/katrina.html says that they are beginning to make the effects of Katrina visible... though I don't think they'll have anything of the cloud cover.
Hope that helps.[/quote] |

IF YOU'RE READING THIS AND HAVEN'T DOWNLOADED GOOGLE EARTH, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING.
GO HERE: http://earth.google.com/
So Krats' last one was the Panmunjom Truce Village.
Scrolling over a little you can see the spot where the gun battle over the defectors occurred as well as the spot where Capt. Bonifas and Lt. Barrett were killed with axes, and the Bridge of no Return.
Here's the easiest one in the world:

Never say never. Let's see if we can resurrect this game. It's a wide wacky world out there with a whole lot of interesting places. Though how about a new rule: you have to say why the place is famous.

With the Keyhole and National Geographic layers on, Google Earth is cooler and more informative than ever! But it pretty much means the death of the Google Earth game.... |
