That's how I translated this line:

데이브 ESL 카페를 보면 그동안 아동성추행, 마약 범죄 등에 연루된 외국인 때문에 한국내 여론이 좋지 않았는데 당신의 이번 신고로 여론이 좋아지지 않을까 기대하는 댓글도 있더라.

I probably could've rendered it a bit better but I think that's a pretty faithful translation. I'm not sure what time period 그동안 was referring to. Maybe CTR remembers what the interviewer's exact question was?

I think that the English is a little awkward, but the meaning is pretty clear -

Whether most posters are aware of it or not, some people connected with Korean mass media (and government officials) regularly check out what's posted here, and there has been a lot of "self-incriminating" stuff negatively reflecting on the expat community - and subsequently broadcast on Korean media.

In the interests of balance, the same media and government officals can pick up on positive things (like helping stop child and animal abuse and environmental clean-up efforts) that expats post about here...

This should've been in General. I totally missed it, and it's very relevant to living here. I normally don't read the Off-Topic.

It sounds like someone mixed up my wife, your wife, and an unidentified third girl.

Well done.

I didn't read every post but I also think you need to be congratulated for having the presence of mind to take a photo.

Imagine if a Western guy took the photo and then it was discovered by a third party Korean before he had time to report it...

Well done.

As an aside, how many other residential windows have a view of that balcony?

In contrast to what some more pessimistic posters predicted, the kindergarten is well and truley closed and I haven't seen activity there since December.

A huge thanks to everyone for their support and PM's during all of that. Like the Bill Kapoun tragedy, its warming to know at least that there are good, compassionate people out there willing to help those less fortunate.

Namaste.
