One question, aren't these or any hagwon allowed to state how much they will pay, after all it is their money? I am not saying that they can pay sub-standard wage but since it is their money do they not have a right to say how much they are willing to pay?
| Quote: |
| They could but like any business around the world, upper management/ownership is just too greedy when they can be to the detriment of the student. |
Who is twisting any westerner's arm and forcing them to accept the wage offered? Are not westerner's responsible for their decision in accpting wages lower than they want?
| Quote: |
PS schools also don't want to double the salary for real teachers (trust me they would come in droves if SK paid what the middle east does)
because of yes, budget constraints, but I think more importantly, The Korean teachers union wouldn't like it hence the hiring of "assistant native-speakers" not real licensed teachers that know what they're doing |
Then why do so many people flock to Korea then and avoid the Middle East? I do not think that higher salaries will draw more qualified people but it may draw any Tom, Dick and Harry looking to make a buck and have a good time.
How will westerners be content with a higher salary when they are not content with the current wages being offered in Korea? |

I have done so but I see you avoiding responding ot my points. |
No. No you haven't answered any one of my three questions. My questions by the way speak directly to your point. It is necessary for you to demonstrate an understanding of the employer employee relationship in order to have this discussion. I asked you to explain why the right of employment at will are given to employees and you have not responded.
Furthermore by stating that you have is an outright lie.

Not at all. You haven't presented anything other than 'westerners can act any way they want to when it is convenient for them regardless of the inconvenience to others'. No one can support that argument for the reasons already given in this thread. |
Again, a lie. I never said that. I said 30 days notice is not required by labor law.
Quote where I said that. Or apologize for lying.
The other question you have not answered is, are you currently employed in Korea and did you work last week?
Pretty simple. I managed to answer both previously please do the same.

Make all the accusations you want I have done so. Giving a 30 day notice and following the contract is not violating labor law (not talking about specific clauses included in some contracts which do go contrary to the labor law).
Of course you would have to produce the statute that specifically states that 30 or 60 day notices are illegal. I have read the statute and I do not recall seeing any wording outlawing the giving of such notice. If you had read my comments, you would have seen where I did not disagree with the labor law but stated that walking out of a school or hagwon without notice is wrong and it is. It is very selfish and spoiled behavior, it is not the right thing to do. |

In relation to my friend's situation, explain why it is wrong. This is now the third time I'm asking. |

The question was why the right is given. Everybody knows that it is, but why. Do you understand the employer employee relationship. That is the question you have not answered.
Also are you currently employed and did you work last week?
Really annoying...

I did a little googling on this Thiessen/kinship guy... who is this clown? So the garbage that is the Korea Times pays this idiot to write pro Korea/anti-western stuff?
I just read one of his articles titled "Racism Does Not Exist Here" and I have to say, that it is honestly one of the worst "articles" I've ever read. I mean, listen to this quote: "This means the Bible is correct and there is no such thing as racism". This dude is retarded, or one of these twisted characters that create a lie of an existence, and lack the self-awareness to break out of their delusion.
Does the Herald also publish his stuff? This is one propagandizing loser, what a hilarious little character this guy has created for himself living away from his home country. Man, people are so funny. I bet there are white dudes in China making a lot of government loot writing propaganda like this guy is... interesting racket.
At least, quite fairly, he gets completely mutilated in the comments sections of his articles. And I mean like butt reamed by a donkey. It's really a shame to any society that fraudulent, phony humans like this exist. It really sets things back and hampers groups of people from moving forward or changing in a positive fashion. Pretty sad. This guy should have been a BJ. |

No! LOL! Don't go, Thiessen!
Even though your opinion is worthless, your reasoning atrocious, and your proof imaginary... you've been making the winter break so much brighter.
Shall we look forward to your lies in the Times? |

1. Which particular persons--provide all the poster names--have proven what you said to be true?
2. How have those persons proven what you said to be true? Be specific. |

How can I be a troll? i am not inciting anyone, i am defending my position and I do not do anything that is normally associated with trolls. I think you are just biased and hate to follow what is right in order to do your own thing. |

You're talking without conversing.
You put up little challenges, and broad condemnations, and then when called on any of it, you either put up more of the same, or kick over your bucket and leave the sandbox. |
