Christiano Ronaldo, not Ronaldo. They are two different people and there are important differences. Ronaldo is a Brazilian forward who played some decent football and made also-rans into winners. Christiano Ronaldo is a Portugeus winger who has played some decent football but is yet to prove that he can change an ordinary team into winners.
I do know both players, and I will grant you that without context most knowledgeable fans will usually think of the Brazilian when only the name "Ronaldo" is mentioned. But as far as I know, only one of Ronaldos was involved in an incident with Rooney in 2006. Thus, a knowledgeable fan, especially one from England, would have needed no more clarification, and a casual fan would just as likely think Cristiano, as he is the only one currently playing, and thus still in the news. Try googling "Ronaldo" and see what comes up - Cristiano gets at least 50% of the returns, if not more.

Last predictions for the final?

Germany 3 Argentina 1
I predict Argentina will slow things down and squeak out a close win as they have done all tournament long. Forget about what Germany did to Brazil, a team that has now been exposed as not that good. Think about Ghana 2-2, or US 1-0.

Argentina 1 Germany 0

Messi 2 Germany 1

I'm glad Brazil went out the way it did, forcing it's politicians to actually answer for their actions.

Germany were deserved winners.

The Argentines just sat back and played Greek style, admittedly they have one of the best defences in the world, but the Germans were all over them for most of the game.

They are now the undisputed rulers of world football.

Considering they have been the most consistent team for the past 12 years I have to wonder how long this run will last?

Not very long. Germany were, in a way, lucky because many of the countries that 'save' a special effort just for playing against the krauts were knocked out in the group stages: England, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Russia, ...
Dutch players become men-possessed when they are up against the krauts. First game of Euro qualifiers for Germany is against Scotland,... come to think of it, Scotland likes Germany, They used to have a German, Bertie Voigts as their manager, not that he had much success with the Scots. In fact, with the exception of Poland, there's distict lack of animocity in Germany's group. it has three British patsies:Scotland, Rep of Ireland, Gibralta, and Georgia. What a bore.

As for who is Ronaldo:
Ronaldo is the Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo is Cristiano Ronaldo and not Ronaldo. Google search engine is not an arbitor in Brazilian sensibilities in giving a single name to their idols. Laughing

Germany is no joke. Prior to this World Cup, they were not satisfied with their options of facilities in Brazil. So they just built their own hotel, practice field, and fitness center. That's hardcore.
Looks like that dedication paid off for them, and not just in terms of National Pride.

Germany will earn $35 million thanks to its World Cup championship

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-dirty-tackle/germany-will-earn--35-million-thanks-to-its-world-cup-championship-213642628.html

"To the victors go the spoils and 1 percent of FIFA's 2014 World Cup revenue.

After Germany defeated Argentina in extra time of the final of the World Cup, not only did it get to hoist an 18-carat trophy, but it also hauled off a cool $35 million.

It’s fitting that the largest prize in World Cup history was distributed in the most expensive World Cup in history. Spain, winner of the 2010 World Cup, received $30 million.

That money is the only thing Germany gets to keep (except for bragging rights) since the expensive trophy stays with FIFA and teams are given a cheaper replica.".................

No one has mentioned it yet, but Gotze's goal was a thing of beauty. Imagine coming in as a substitute and scoring a goal like that to win the World Cup Final. He will be a German legend now!
