America the land of the free?? hahahahaha
FREE??? hahhaaah yeah right.... that's funny... |
In America, you're free to voice your opinions, free to practice the religion of your choice, free to vote for the representatives of your choice, free to engage in sexual relationships with the consenting adult of your choice (regardless of their gender), free to pursue economic prosperity in the manner of your choosing, and free to enter and exit the country more or less as you please. These are freedoms many people in the world lack.
What is it that you'd like to do but aren't free to do, exactly? |
last I heard medical treatment was not free!
education is not free...
social welfare of not free.. |
"Land of the Free" refers to political freedoms, not things being free in terms of price. Of course medical treatment, education, and social welfare aren't free. Even if they were paid for entirely by taxes, they still wouldn't be free, we'd just be paying for them through a tax-based model rather than a direct payment-based model. There's no where in the world that education, medical treament, and social welfare are free.
But, I suppose if your criticism is that things cost money, I'm forced to agree with you. Yes, in America -- and everywhere else in the world -- things cost money. |
Oh no, I have to pay to receive something! |

That's because Americans can afford to not care about trivia.
(Yours was funnier.) |

The lovefest between people and celebs. I understand MSM having Tiger Woods in front of the TV and magazines all week long while our President just announce he is sending 30,000 troops to Afghanistan. It's the readers who buy US weekly or whatever gossip magazines you could think of. It's the people at your job talking about Tiger Woods and his 10,000 mistresses.
Some people hate our sensualization of celebrities but we continuously talk about them. |
You are right, sir. I will add that to my gripe list. |

Boy, I sure do. I miss getting right to the door everywhere I go. Because you know what? Buses and subways in Korea don't offer door-to-door service--nor even a safe, secure bus ride, many times. Walking is a given when getting somewhere with Pubtrans, no matter where in the world you go. And don't preach about taxis. You can't always get a cab to agree to take you just because you flag it down--one of my biggest pet peeves--and it's not as economical as driving your own vehicle. A car is one of THE most personal items a human being has ever gotten close to. So miss driving, but don't say you despise it, not even in the name of the environment, which convenience always trumps. |

Well I don't really dislike the US or its people. I've met plenty of great Americans and human history is full of Americans who have excelled in practically every field and made great contributions to science, literature, history, mathematics, education etc. etc.
Anyway..
I dislike the Christian-Right in the US but maybe I just dislike radical Christianity in any country not just the USA..
I really dislike their television media such as CNN or wayyyyy worse Fox News.
I dislike how America medels too much in other countries but hey my country is also at fault for this..
I could probably list a number of reasons but who cares? The US isn't a bad place..hence why so many people on this planet try to immigrate there every day. Actually one thing that annoys me is the constant hate for the US and its people. Yes Americans have their problems but so does everyone in every country. I find in Canada "Anti-Americanism" is cliche and often even hypocritical. |
