I find that there are a lot of bars in gangnam, but they are more restuarant/bar.

true: there are many more what i'd say are nicer, traditional sorts of korean drinking places in gangnam - apart from the big, crazy hiphop clubs (hey they're an occasional pleasure) and the microbrewery places. if u enjoy beer that's actually tasty, try the latter. most of the more fun places are on the gangnam station exit 7 side (if i remember correctly - not the city cinema side) - there's castle praha on that main street there (u go downstairs to get in) it's a huge beerhall place, with great beer and nice snacks. there's also another one that's german inspired on one of the alleys - i've been there a couple of times and they've had a (quite loud) jazz band there and tasty, tasty beer. platinum's another one. i'm sorry; i don't go to gangnam much these days, because i live in what's virtually north korea, so my memory's a bit fuzzy. other than that, there's an aight (non hiphop) club just out of exit 6 - the city cinema side (?) (i think it's the one that used to be brooklyn?). i also actually like the sit-down hof environment, and there's PLENTY of that kind of thing around gangnam.

You got your sides mixed up, I believe. I heard Platinum closed down. Hesse, Castle Praha, Brauhaus (not sure on the name there) all have that sort of Korean beerhall vibe and are out exit 6 on the backstreet.

it's not that i don't like sit down places, it's just that i don't know anyone here. It's tough to meet people at restaurants...
