Yes, hatred does kill. Have you read the bible/koran? They teach hate.

Stalin did not kill because he was an atheist. He didn't say "I'm killing in the name of atheism". No. He killed for reasons of power and control. To make solid his position.

I haven't read the Koran. The bible doesn't really teach hate. The NT is all about love. The OT may have arguably taught hate to a Jewish audience 3000 years ago, but its pretty hard to suggest that the OT compels Jews to violence today.

Kuros, that is nonsense.

Theists kill other theists - and anyone else who happens to be the object of their hate - as an end it itself. I realize not all killing in the name of religion is like this, but much is.

Stalin killed a lot of people and was an atheist, but then again he was also a heliocentrist. He wore socks also.

I heard you the first time. I just didn't see any evidence. Hence: dogma.

I shouldn't have to present evidence that religion has directly inspired a massive amount of killing any more than I should have to present evidence in favor of my view that elephants exist.

My interpretation makes more sense. Hatred kills. Hatred extends to the religious and areligious.

Still, atheism itself isn't a principle, cause, philosophy, or belief system which people fight, die, or kill for. The religions are.

Absolute morality means that everything in the material world (of relativity, duality, real suffering, and false happiness...) is bad, while everything in the (non-material) spiritual world of eternal bliss and knowledge is good.

Accepting that, (which all great sages of India have) then whatever keeps us bound to this material world - like materialistic, atheistic philosophies - is also bad.

The only good philosophies are those which transcendentally aim to get us out of this basically miserable place ...

Consciousness is key, and when our conciousness is gradually purified by our sincerely engaging in devotional service (under the guidance of a bona fide spiritual master) then God will be pleased to reveal Himself to us on a personal level - as He has to many, many realized souls.

If our consciousness remains absorbed in materialistic thoughts at the critical time of death, then we naturally remain bound to the material world in some form or other - perhaps for millions of years (till we finally wise up and surrender to God ...)

Thank you, master of the obvious.

Stalin killed because he believed in an 'ism', the mirror image of your 'ism'. To state the obvious, an 'ism' is an 'ism' and all of them are dangerous.

Actually, we're old enough to remember "Emma Peel" from the hit TV show, The Avengers .http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1336/Mptv/1336/5634_0052.jpg.html?path=gallery&path_key=0054518

She was pretty crushworthy, I think... Cool
