I think I will order that Zalman CNPS9500 AT....Or is the Zalman CNPS7700-Cu better?? Reviews say that the 9500 is a bit loud at full rpm, but heatpipes are the way to go?? I want to quiet things down because its near my TV and as it is now, the stock cooler is pretty loud!!
Going to order two more Zalman case fans as well.
Thanks again for the help...much appreciated!!! |

Just installed the Zalman CNPS9500 AT and replaced the two case fans with Zalmans as well.
It is definitely running cooler. With the cpu at full load, it hit 54C. A solid 10C cooler than with the stock cpu cooler.
At idle it's hovering around 42~43C, around 5C cooler than before.
But, I must say that its not that quiet!!! I was hoping for something a little quieter. It is a shade quieter than before, but not that much.
Anyways, thanks everyone for your help!!! Now that I have this cooler, I might try and overclock it a smidge. I've read a bit and apparently its pretty easy to tinker a bit and get good results. I want to push it, but just a hair. |

Well....i searched around for someone with the same motherboard and cpu. It still seems a bit confusing, but i tried a few things and got something that seemed stable, but I chickened out and set everything back to normal.
Here is what I did:
CPU Clock Ratio: 8x
CPU Host Frequency: 333Mhz
System Memory: 800 Mhz, 1:1
PCI Express Multiplier: 100Mhz
Timings: 5,5,5,15
I got that off of a similar setup on an overclocking site. But when I booted into OSX86 (everything ran fine, only 2 degrees warmer) but it said the system bus was 1.3Ghz.
Is that ok???? |

refer to this website for overclocking your e4500.
there is an excel file that will calculate the correct settings.
*** as always, proceed with caution. results may vary because of different combination of hardware*** |

Thanks again for the help ttompatz!!!
Everything works perfectly.....Video, sound, LAN, reboot, power off.
I went with the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3, Sigma GeForce 7300GS, Intel Core2Duo E4500 (2.2GHz), 2GB ram, 550watt PSU. Got all the goods to build the machine for 390,000won. |
are you using the HD audio (digital optical) out? if so, how did you get it working. i've got the same mobo, and in the system profiler it says "no built-in audio device"
thanks.
edit: it still says no built-in audio device, but i went into the audio midi setup and change some properties. everything works great! |
