If you're teaching kindergarteners good clothes are a bad idea. Crayon and marker, glue, whatever can end up on you.

I don't mind our dress code because the clothes required are not very expensive and make me feel like an English school boy, but I am very jealous of people who get to wear sandals because I love them and can't.

Saint_moi,
I would love to meet you anytime, anyplace and show you how amazing my skills are. I actually didn't mean to insult you in the other post by saying you sounded tough. But if you want to measure toughness, that sounds fun. Did you think I mentioned being encouraged to wear collars to brag to you? Did you think I thought I'm better because I wear collars?Do you think my smart dress helps make me a beautiful prancing boy? I think you sound interesting. Let's meet somewhere soon, pops.

At my last job teaching adults.. I tested the "dress code" from the beginning.. when i first got there I tried to "get away" with jeans and a button-down shirt.. then I slowly progressed/digressed (depending how you look at it) to jeans and t-shirt.. hell.. by the 2nd week there (it was august) I was wearing shorts, t-shirt and sandals.. and no one said a thing.. from that point on, it was a matter of what was the first thing I could throw on in the morning...

I'm guessing I got no flack for it for the following reasons... 1) My manager was a lazy ass who couldn't give a damn 2) a couple of Americans who worked there dressed pretty geeky, thus making me look more normal than them 3) No one complained about my classes like they did about some of the other teachers.. 4) I had some pretty sweet t-shirts Laughing

at my new college gig.. i feel obliged to atleast wear pants and a button-down shirt..Razz I'm a fashion disaster to be honest...
