I asked about this a couple weeks ago, and "trot" is apparently the corny "nostalgia music," while "bbongjak" is its upbeat though illegitimate offspring. "Bbongjak bbongjak" is onomatopaeic, describing the ubiquitous driving backbeat overlaid to the old tunes.
