While it's possible that a lot of the mysteries mentioned can be attributed to a creaky database with too much information running six year old software, here's what I think is REALLY going on...
You are all full of shit.
There are no benign posts going missing. There are no avatars mysteriously vanishing. There are no users without access to the PM function a hundred posts in. No censorship. And there is no mod conspiracy to protect hagwon owners.
What there IS is a bunch of idiots with a vendetta against a message board that tossed them for being the idiots they are.
Taking into account that this happens EVERY TIME they get new mods here. And taking into account that the lot of you assholes are regular posters on eslcafe and the thankfully gone Kimchipot, and pushed ads for both places each time. And and I'm willing to bet you are socks of previously banned users.
You guys do this every time there are new mods because you're hoping you'll be able to browbeat them into letting you run free like you can over at the other two boards you frequented. I have no problems with the mods at eslcafe. Lord knows they try hard to run a normal board with you retards stinking the joint up. But it's pretty obvious there they've decided it's just easier to let you have your ways.
I have NEVER been on a board that allows so much fucking stupidity go on in the name of being fair to a bunch of guys who don't deserve it. If my finger were on the button, the whole lot of you assholes would have been shown the door with the first bullshit comment. |

His responses to our requests to add/remove swears have amounted to 'Done. Cheers, Dave.' The lingering problems stem from us wanting to add some new words on account of filter dodges. But the filter is buggy, so we asked him to remove the new list of additions. But perhaps he missed some and also accidentantly took out some needed ones. We'll follow-up with him to be sure. |
As far as I'm concerned, the only words that possibly need to be banned are Korean swears. We're all adults--the English swears are all pretty ineffectual now. If I want to be offensive I can do it without using any censored words. What is the rationale behind the filter anyway? I've asked before and never had an answer. |

I can attest to more than one of my threads disappearing. It was the reason i stopped posting here a long time ago.
Homer/the Dude was the one who told me on two occasions, Canuckistan on the other; that they didn't know what happened to my threads. On one occasion, after PMing the entire mod team, I received a reply 3 full days later.
If there were flames on them, he would have been able to tell me so. He said they just 'disappeared'.
So i just stopped posting here. Why should I take the time to answer questions and provide information when I'm not sure if they'll be there the next day.
You call that a vendetta? I think you have a conspiracy theory of your own to deal with there chap.

| As far as I can tell, it's pretty much random which swears will get filtered these days. I've seen Sh-, F-, d- and perhaps one other get through my posts. I notice this because I swear in my posts, expecting the filter to take it out. It doesn't always, but sometimes it does. The variation between whether or not it works can be as little as between a couple minutes. |
