OK, for starters, ME SO HAPPY we have change coming.
To get down to the nuts and bolts, the Iowa exemption is mentioned for the GOP only. The Democrat bit seems a bit too focused on superdelegates. Said delegates had no business declaring their votes before the people were finished. I'd be fine with scrapping them, but I'd also be fine with permanently removing "superdelegateship" for any who declared their votes before the convention.
I see nothing foxworthy (unless you're talking Jeff) about Iowa and NH remaining at the beginning, but one doesn't want cranky Hawkeyes jumping ship in the election because their coddled status is in danger.
Hence, good call in calling for plans to be submitted Jan. 2009.
