You want to look for the McKinsey Global Institute. Some of the data is available for free public consumption. Related, if you're into this kinda stuff, they also have some excellent podcasts. Really excellent stuff.
To the other question. Yes. I think 20-25% unemployment is a reasonable estimate for a strong social democracy. Of course, it depends on how you count, as you pointed out. Do you count those who have given up looking for work, are on the dole, are in jail, are in school but seeking work etc? The US prison population isn't counted and if it were would significantly alter the American data.
In regards to the Swedish paper, you can translate it eh? Bablefish should do the trick. |
