I can do 40. Really.
But 100 is next to impossible for anyone except body builders. If you can only do less than 60 now, you might as well forget it. |
Not true.
Do 10 every day for a week. Then move up to 30 every day for a week. Then do 3 sets of 30 every day in the morning right when you wake up then again before you go to sleep. Do this for two maybe three weeks.
Then you have to force yourself to do 100.
It's not impossible. It just takes determination. |

A few years ago I made it my goal to do 100 after my dad told me that he used to be able to do 100 when he was younger and was doing boxing training. I started off being able to do 30 and trained everyday gradually increasing the number. It took me about a year to get up to the point where I could do 100. I did it a few times, proved the point to myself and then kind of got bored of doing push ups and stopped. Now I'm back to only being able to do about 50.
I think if you can only do about 30 now then 6 weeks is not enough time. I trained nearly everyday and it took a year. 100 is hard. If you think it's easy then you're either super-fit already, full of it or you're not doing them properly. When I did my 100, to make sure I wasn't cheating myself, I touched my nose to the ground on each rep.
PS- OK, I'm in for this 6-week challenge. Maybe starting from 50 it will be possible. Be back in 6 weeks to let you know! |

It's a pretty big jump from sets of 10 to sets of 30. 10 for me is a piece of cake but sometimes I can't do 30. The closer you are to your limits the harder it gets and I don't think everyone can increase their level of strength as quickly as that program assumes i.e. every week. |

If you go for the big one and attempt 100, do a bit of prep first and it'll be pie. Warm the muscles with light movements, then drop for say 20 pushups. You'll feel invincible, like a well oiled spring.
Then onward for the quest. Don't be over fussy about quality. |
