I played with it for a while yesterday afternoon.
The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't in English. Pretty fucking obvious, that was. How dare they assume to know what language I want, just because I'm not in the USA. This goes for google.com, google earth, and more recently, youtube. I guess this is part of their drive for global domination, but why not ask us what language we want? Grrr!
The second thing I noticed (after spending about half an hour trying to change the language), was how pleasant it was to look at. Kinda retro, but kinda cool. I liked that.
But then I moved on to the nittygritty. After discovering how slow it was, I found myself thinking 'why am I bothering?' I had already invested some considerable time with the Opera browser a while back. After getting all the settings how I wanted them, and falling in love with their password wand wizard and sessions function, I decided that I really have no need for Google Chrome. I currently now have five browsers on my computer. Before Chrome came along, I would always use Opera (except in rare cases where a site 'wasn't ready' for it). It's not perfect, but it feels a damn site faster than Google's.
Just my two pence. Right! Time for a much needed visit to 'Add or Remove Programs'. |

LOL - its not in English. Corse theyre right in providing geographic based content and language, its not too hard to change it up anyways. Or download the English version in the first place. The whole world aint in English and i dont want to keep choosing languages when i visit a site, just change it once. Bookmark it. And your done.
As for Chrome, its a nice new toy to play with. But my FF is loaded with all the addons etc that i rely on these days.
Until that happens with Chrome and they fix those stupid typing bugs etc im gonna stay with FF. Browsing is fast enough for my liking and im not visiting a wide range of various content based sites that show me much benefit of using Chrome. |

Apparently it doesn't beat the new 3.1 Firefox beta; except for in Javascript (it's much faster at that.) |
