They add volume buttons and a speaker (which should have been there in the first place), yet still they don't even have a freaking radio???? Rolling Eyes

That's way too much to pay for a LAME sound quality MP3 player. You can buy NICE computers with that much money.

It is a nice computer silly.

I see people on the subway with these mini computers about the size of a brick. The Itouch is smaller than my wallet and can play nes, gba, and other 3-D games. Along with easily predictive typing for e-mails and notes. I can also switch easy between apps, get internet anywhere in seoul, and type in hangul easily between typing in english. For under 300 bucks, thats alot of features. Plus I dont need more than 8 gigs on my Ipod because by the time I went through 8 gigs of memory I would have to recharge.

It's a computer?????? Where can I install Microsoft Office on it??? Where can I download regular computer apps????? Rolling Eyes

It's great you get by on 8gigs of storage, but most people have ALOT more music / videos than you and if you want to have more storage you have to pay extortionate rates for what is regularly cheap flash memory.

What happens when you just want to listen to the radio? You can't because Apple didn't think an MP3 player needs a radio. Rolling Eyes

And the sound quality is just HORRIBLE. A $500 MP3 player with no equalizer?????

To be honest since I bought it, I have barely even used the mp3 element of it. Just been watching videos and podcasts on the subway. The thing i like most about it is the apps and wifi access. I can be waiting for my gf outside a shop in coex or something and check up on the latest news/sports or whatever. That's worth the price alone for me.
As far as I'm aware you don't get that with too many other mp3 players.

Dude, do you know what a computer is? Your cell phone, electronic watch, etc. are all computers. And yeah, you can view and edit documents if you wanted to on it. You can also install a bunch of third party apps for it (legal and pirated). And I'm not saying all I have is 8 gigs of mp3's and videos, I'm saying you cant watch/listen to 8 gigs worth of stuff on one charge. So why would you need more when you can just swap the media at your main computer.

I'm not trying to say its the best, obviously if you want 'amazing' audio quality you wouldn't be listening to mp3's in the first place.

Anyways, what god sent media player to you listen to?

And you dont buy an Itouch just for the mp3s, its for having a mini computer with you. Mainly for e-mail, calender, and internet ( It can not vew flash and active x based sites though). But most flash sites have html options.

I'm not trying to be a sales man, but there really isnt anything else on the market that compares. I'm looking forward to Google's phone/media device. It will be open source and have a lot more apps (including crappy ones). Navagating the device is simple and a pleasure, its easy on the eye, easy enough to read books or magazines on the screen and listen to music at the same time. Also there are a bunch of games you can play while listening to your own music.

And if you want FM radio, why would you care about about quality in the first place. I agree FM would be cool, but the internet is cooler.

edit
----
its not 500, its 280 and it does have an equalizer

There's no point in arguing with DCJames about this. He's clearly satisfied with his irrational and ignorant opinion of the Touch.

(Irrational because anyone who says the Touch sounds "horrible" is clearly not basing that opinion on the facts, and ignorant because he's sadly underinformed about the Touch's capabilities. Like...who cares if I only have 8 gigs on the unit itself? I can stream my ENTIRE library from my home computer over wifi.)

But whatever, feel free to keep braying dude.

I was at Costco last night and they did not have the new Touches in yet. I think they're trying to sell out of the old ones first.

Is there a decent English>Korean dictionary for the iphone/touch?

What other apps do you use on it? Any decent recommendations for download?
I already have Wikipanion, Last.fm, WeDict, Stanza (good ebook reader), NYTimes, Facebook, Palringo (MSN, yahoo etc), Currency, Movies and Google.
What else is there I'm missing?

And has anyone tried making VOIP calls yet using their 2g touch? I'm wondering what type of mic/phones I need to look into getting.
