I've tried to get into it a few times, the reviews being so good and all, but I've found it really hard to get into. I've never even got into that city in the first real area. It's a shame, because it's meant to be great. (BTW, do you know how to get into that crypt where you're kill the ghoul? That seems to be where I'm stuck. It's one of the first creature contracts) |

For anyone who has anything in the Halflife 2 family a kick ass mod has just started to gain popularity. It's called Age of Chivalry, and there are a good bunch of busy Korean and Chinese servers. It's been out for a while, but Valve just started hosting it on Steam, and its popularity has shot way up. Before I had to play on US servers at 230+ ping but now there are a bunch of servers pinging sub 50. It's like a medieval combat FPS with knights and archers and footmen. It's a little odd at first, but once you get used to it its pretty sweet. If the melee is too frantic at first you can play and archer till you get the hang of it. Playing as a knight and cutting a swath through the other teams feels much cooler and more kinetic than CS. Also, because it's a mod it's free, provided you have HL2/CSS/TF etc.
Oh and Mass Effect is Awesome. |
I haven't played Age of Chivalry yet. I should get on that.
Another Half-Life 2 mod you should check out is Insurgency. It's what I've been playing this days. The game was taken in by Steam a few days ago, as Steam does that with good mods, and now has over thirty servers with 150 or less ping that always have a large amount of players in them. Some of the Korean servers are usually full and ping around 5 (for me), but I prefer to play on American / Canadian / Australian servers because I like the mic chat.
Insurgency is good if you're into realistic-type shooters with a modern setting. It's also very polished as far as mods go. |

I didn't play it either. I saw a review of it awhile back that blasted it to hell.
Maybe I'll check it out though. The only setback is that I'm not an RPG / 3rd Person fan. |

Warhammer- Age of Reckoning... there, I said it.
In terms of MMORPG's, it's really casual. You can log in, play a scenario.. or you can play longer during the weekends. |

| I can't get Mass Effect to work on my Comp. As soon as I launch the game, it crashes. I think it is an issue with the ATI 1950 pro vid card I have. |

Hmm... have you tried updating your drivers? That's the first step.
Second, I heard that a lot of people had problems like that because of the security (copy protection) software. You could go to Mininova and download copy-protection disabled torrent of the masseffect.exe and see if that helps you. Get one of the new torrents as the early editions of them didn't work.
This is all presuming that you paid for the game.
Thirdly, if you are running "process explorer", you need to disable it and reboot with it disabled. For some reason that causes the game to crash while loading up.
Hope it helps... |

Why didn't anyone say Civilization 4? It's awesome!
The Witcher had a cool setting and fun combat, but the load times were just too long on my computer. I couldn't take it anymore. But I got partway through chapter 3/5.
Somebody asked how to get into the Crypt, I think someone gives you the key for a quest. You have to retrieve something from in there. But anyway, all creature contracts are totally optional. You don't need to do it. |

My school lists Metacritic as an unauthorized site. Hmm. Or maybe it's just a general attack site. Too lazy to translate the message. |

It's definitely not a malicious site. It's a popular site that compiles reviews from webpages for games and movies and such. |

Yeah, I've been there before. More so now that Rottentomatoes canned their games section.
Annoyingly enough, my school seems to be blocking a lot of sites lately. If they're going to take away my ability to browse the internet, they should at least give me something to do! I have no classes. |
