I don't want a sermon. I just want the damn book.

Is there a church that gives them away or mails them?

Anyone know?

Free huh? I like a challenge.

Plan A: Get to your local library and see if they have one, if they do you can either:(1) check it out and not return it or (2) check it out and photocopy it at your school. (Over a few days of course)

Plan B: Find a good online one reformat it (reduce the font size, copy two pages onto one etc) and print it out at school. Over time of course maybe a couple of weeks.

Plan C: Ask around the local English troupe and ask if anyone has one.

Two things here....

The first is that when you buy a bible from a used book store, you aren't supporting a church, you're supporting the used book store.

The second is that love motels aren't just for sex. They're relatively nice hotels that cost a lot less than other nice hotels. For 30,000-60,000, you get a decent room with a computer, hdtv and other niceties you don't get at a non-love motel.

I got approached by 3 different Jehovah witnesses (two knocked on my door and one approached me on the street) in the first couple of months I was here. I finally stopped answering the door. They tried to give me free bibles.

Doesn't the Jehovah's Witness Bible use a translation that is considered extremely inaccurate, even by non-religious people?

Yup - I believe that not a single person who 'translated' it had a degree in ancient Hebrew or Greek.

I dunno about Bibles, but in the late Spring Coex mall has a book
expo where you can pick up a very nice Quran for free. They may
have Bibles as well...

My Korean girlfriend and I picked up a free, nice, hardcover Quran (why not?) and I told her we should hold it in the folds of our arms openly while taking the subway. The looks we got were priceless and we were given plenty of room on the subway without anyone pushing or shoving us. It was fantastic! I still laugh when I think of it...

btw, why's this old thread been bumped? for shits'n giggles?
