You heard it here first folks. |
Riots by 11pm. |
Riots I can deal with. Small price. |
For four years? |
Wouldn't last that long. We're the ones with the guns, remember?
Unfortunately, though, I don't think we'll have to worry about that happening. Polls tightening and all, it still looks like your boy will win. |
In this thread: people who just love getting butt-fucked by the republican party.
Seriously, I don't understand how long it will take people to realize that the republican party has NONE of your best interests in mind. |
I just think too many Ameicans are dumb. Makes me ashamed to be an American. Even more so if McCain wins. |

Obama will likely keep fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, and if we are to look at his foreign policy advisers, Russia.
What a free democracy you people live in |
TRUE....but I would rather have Obama with his TOP advisors (and he has been choosing top-notch advisors on every level so far) dealing with these issues, then just a group of neocons bumbling around. |

While I agree that in general you're choosing between two very similar choices, if you're going by what the candidates have said, McCain is a MUCH greater concern for getting us into more wars.
He's been pushing about Russia for a while now, as well as Iran (bomb, bomb, Iran). Honestly, the guy's a loose cannon. Judging by the way he and Palin have run their campaign, I think I'd rather have another four years of Bush than risk what a McCain presidency would do to the world. |

after the debacle in 2000 where news stations erroniously claimed victory for gore, the stations will take a more conservative approach toward claiming states for each candidate. becaue florida and ohio will be close, don't expect an official winner to be announced until late, late tuesday night EST.
i predict it won't be until about 4pm our time here in korea.
btw: go obama!!! |

According to CNN:
The first polls in the east close at 8am this morning. The western states close at noon. |

...the short version, if you don't want all the details. The first key is Virginia at 7 PM. If Obama takes Virginia, where he's ahead, he'll almost certainly take Pennsylvania (at 8 PM) too. And that will pretty much be it for McCain. Between 6PM and 8 PM there are five other states: Indiana, Florida, Ohio, Missouri, North Carolina. These are all basically toss-ups with a few slight leads for Obama. If McCain is losing in any of them, he's probably done.
...the longer version.
And an interactive map with the poll closing times across the country. |
I'll crack open the vino when I see O take VA and PA. It would be cruel to the old man if it has to go on much later than that. |

If it does go on much later than that, it'll be McCain's doing:
In Virginia, Mr. McCains campaign filed a lawsuit Monday asking a federal judge to order the Virginia election board to count ballots from overseas military personnel until Nov. 14, a 10-day extension that the campaign said is necessary because ballots were distributed late.

The nytimes link is nice.
I was watching MSMBC and it doesn't make sense.
They have called S Caroline for Mcain. 1% of precincts reporting, and Obamaz has 55% of the vote..... go figure. |

| This NYT link won't even project IL yet. Cnn had IL about an hour ago. It's good to be cautious, but the old dame needs to speed it up a tad. |
