Geez, some of you really have been in Korea too long. Man, I thought I'd been here too long, but wondering about sharks and whales on tv. Dude, I wonder if I'll ever be able to travel to North America again because in the last three months we all became fifty percent less rich because of the exchange rate.

This is my favourite bit........"Over 250,000 caring pet owners Worldwide have selected Neuticles as a safe, practical and inexpensive option when neutering."

If they were caring they wouldn't have chopped them off in the first place!!!

i also love that they see baseball caps, tank tops and t shirts too.

oh they only seem to do them for cats. dogs and bulls......any chance of some for eh, wooooo(is it hot in here Embarassed Embarassed ) i dunno, something the size of a wasp Cool Cool Cool

Download "Airsharks". It is all about the Great Whites in S. Africa who have developed a breaching tactic to take out seals...It's amazing!

I have seen Killer Whales (Orca) breach many times (as well as other whales) and from very close. That is definitely not a Killer Whale. I thought it was a little odd that they should choose a Great White Shark instead of an Orca.

A few details for those who are curious about such things:

- Killer Whales are mammals and the largest members of the dolphin family.
- They have conical teeth in a single row whereas sharks typically have several rows of teeth and are very sharp (I think everyone knows this last part!).
- Killer Whales are found in every ocean of the world, whereas Great Whites inhabit warmer waters.
- There are several varieties of Killer Whale - in part divided by diet.
i.e. Fish eaters vs. Meat eaters (seals, sea lions, other whales). In the North American Pacific waters, there are three separate groups known; Resident whales (Northern and Southern), Transient Killer Whales, and the Offshore Whales.
- They can echo locate their prey.
- They hunt in packs, though the Transients are known to travel in smaller groups, more quietly and stealthily. Not unusual to find one hunting on its own. I had the extreme good fortune to find a group of 8 in rough waters - including some juveniles who began excitedly vocalizing, and breaching, something quite rare to encounter amongst Transients. I had very happy passengers that day.

Okay, class dismissed.

Though I have not seen a Great White breach, nor even seen a Great White live, I would say they would not be as impressive a sight simply because of their size. At up to 10 tons, though usually about 6 or 7 - larger for the males - a breaching Killer Whale, or even another kind of whale, cannot be mistaken for a shark.
Nevertheless, if you saw a Great White breaching, I am sure you would be impressed. I know I would.

Occasionally a Great White washes up on a beach North of the 49th parallel, emaciated, due to lack of food in the colder Northern waters.

Love the commercial though...

Have a look at this site: http://www.princeofwhales.com/

Oh yeah, and Killer Whales are black and white, sharks are generally bluish-grey.

A truly beautiful creature. It would be an honour to be eaten alive by one. Thas how i'm going out ladies and gents, chomped by the apex predator of the sea. lovely.

oh, (missed this one the first time) and a few years ago, the question of which animal would win was answered when a Great White was attacked by an Orca and its juvenile. The Great White was torn to pieces. Granted, it was considerably smaller. Maybe a larger Great White would have stood a chance. However read the article from the second link and decide for yourself....

Perhaps you would like to change your way of leaving this world. It couldn't be more black and white.

I have nothing against sharks though....enjoyed strolling the beaches looking for sharks teeth when I was young, in South Carolina. Found a few too.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate and say it's a whale:

It's a goddamn whale. Anybody who says it isn't is a biological throwback. I mean, it's obvious by looking at the fucking fluke on the thing. Get real, people.

I'll weigh in my 2 cents. It's a shark definitely.

1) The undersides of the pectoral fins are mostly white whereas killer whales are entirely black.

2) Although it looks like this animal is playfully breaching (which killer whales do) it is not. It has a seal in it's mouth thus it's actually an attack, not play.

3) The tail (as others pointed out) would be a dead give away but it's quite unclear of the orientation of the tail. You can't tell from the video.

4) The general coloration is wrong for a killer whale. Google up some pics and you'll see.

However, on first inspection it does look like a killer whale. I don't see how some can claim so dismissively that it was a shark. It fooled me at first and wasn't until I looked carefully that I saw it was a shark.

It's a great white but since I've never seen one at that angle, I first thought it was a whale. But after replaying it, it's def a great white! Thanks for sharing, I love the song!
