have you ever been to quebec ? those ppl dont care about anything, when i go into quebec its like entering a whole new world. I instantly feel more relaxed and mellowed out, and I have never felt any racism directed my way and I cant even speak any french.

| Anglo saxons can be racist, definitely, but I think they also have a higher proportion of people who acknowledge racism is present and who are against it, people are more aware and educated of it, the same of which could not be said in a region such as Asia. |

I think I saw both you and your father on Jaywalking (Leno). It doesn't make much sense to have naturalized Canadian citizens hailing from various countries as immy officers, huh? We wouldn't want to communicate with prospective applicants now would we. And it's certainly silly to have a representative sample of the population in the work place right? Guess they should just stick to being cabbies, or maybe open a restaurant.
Highlight number 2, completely moronic. They are naturalized citizens, thus Canadian, whether they be of Indian, Chinese, or whatever descent. Deciding whether legitimate Canadians can enter??? The turban thing, this is one of many ways one's culture is obviously going to change when you set out to be a multicultural society.

That was the whole point - I wasnt hanging out with white trash, the trash is just everywhere there and would jump into my life sometimes without me wanting it haha but thanks for the great hint 
As for Quebec being the most ethnically hostile province in Canada, come on, look at gay marriage, religion, ethnicity, language, immigration, etc. Alberta got a lot of cash from oil and that brings in a lot of immigrants, but Albertan culture and ethnic homogeneity? Quebec is leaps and bounds ahead.
Yes, I'll admit Quebec people are sometimes racist, but nothing like I saw in Calgary where it goes hand in hand with conservative ideals to produce this Texas junior mentality. |

Hopefully unrelated to anyone her, I've found that racist peopl give the loudest arguments why America isn't racist. Dunno why tho.
For my own selfish (not racist) reasons, I don't mind black dudes being kept out of clubs, black chicks being kept out is an outrage. |

I'm actually watching that documentary as I type, it explains a lot about reconstruction and the brutal racism. But, reconstruction was the first real attempt in the world at mixed race democracy (at least according to one of the historians).
And consider this. How many non-African nations could even conceivably elect a man of African heritage to be president? America just did.
Of course there's still tons of racism in America, but we've also made a lot of progress. In the 1948 you could run for President on a racist platform and use the n word (Thurmmond).
The point is to continue to build on the progress we've made, and self-consciously avoid stereotyping that leads to racism (which is fundamentally anti-humanist, because it precludes judging people as human beings, not racial types). Eyes on the prize. |

Some people may argue that blacks attack whites because they expect them to be carrying cash or valuables. However, fewer than 20 percent of black attacks on whites are robberies; rape and assault do not usually have economic motives. |

Guys, There exists racism within every group. More exactly, there are isms everywhere. I happen to be white, so what. Doesn't matter, any more than someone being Asian, black, hispanic, or any other choice there. Please learn that white folks are just as racist as black folks or asian folks. That's the way it works.

If you measured pulse rate, brain waves, etc., and showed people pictures of other people of all sorts of sizes, shapes and skin colors, you'd find that at some level, we're all racist, sexist, and against those who don't conform to what is a largely inborn sense of what is aesthetic (depending on face proportions).
The simpler, shorter version: We all react differently and notice skin color differences, sex, beauty, and so on. We make snap judgments (that's called prejudice, brother) all the time. It saves time, frankly, and sometimes it might save your kids and you from making a bad move. That's not to say that someone should pre-judge based on skin color, but if you're in a divided society like most American cities and you're in the other turf late at night ...
Obama's voting numbers should give you a shudder if you think conservatives are racist and democrats aren't, or if you think whites are racist. Close to half of whites voted for the guy, and those who didn't -- who are YOU to judge that they weren't considering his inexperience, his leftwing / scanty voting record, or lack of foreign policy experience in a time of 2 wars and maybe more on the horizon. Meanwhile, blacks almost universally voted for him.
Who's more racist now?
Very few gave a war hero a chance, despite that he had plenty of foreign policy & Senate & service experience. OK, so he told some fibs about Obama and lost our respect -- but Obama lied about himself AND McCain. So, we just elected the first guy with an alias ("Barry Soetero") to POTUS, and the 99th ranked senator, and the flimsiest resume in the last 100 years. Let's hope it turns out as well as it did when we idiots voted for an actor-turned-governor-turned-forgetter-in-chief.
To sum up: We're ALL racists. Blacks voting on skin color (and promoting blacks as head coaches, etc.) is extremely offensive to me, as would be rejecting or not fully considering a black, asian, hispanic, american indian, purple, green or blue person (male, female or hermaphroditic) on the basis of irrelevant stuff. Just do the right thing, people!
(And I'm independent, leaning conservative, and HATE racism, sexism or other -isms that interject into decisions or thoughts.) |
