I'm not disagreeing, just pointing out why I'm not going to bother to try, but you are absolutely right- try them all and see which one gets you what you want the fastest.

Bit fan of well-written comedies, and Bittorrent is great for 'em!

What I've downloaded from suprnova.org this week:

-Red Dwarf
-Black Adder
-Fawlty Towers
-Monty Python's Flying Circus
-A Bit of Fry and Laurie
-Kids in the Hall

Now if only I could find The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin somewhere out there....

Don't forget The Office. Series 2 is up on suprnova right now, but who knows how long it will last. Dry as burnt toast, and hilarious because of it.

Winmx definitely the best by a long, long way of many I've tried. Wylde has already outlined the many reasons above.

I briefly switched from winmx to audiogalaxy a couple of years ago as audiogalaxy seemed to have more rare stuff available. The spyware it dumped on me almost wrecked my PC however. Winmx has no spyware and has tons more available than it did 2-3 years ago.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it above having only skimmed thru the posts before, but if you've got your PC for a long time with winmx, it's worth clicking on "Networks" and using the open nap networks as this dramatically increases your search results. You can't do multi-source downloads on this and will often have to wait a while, but if you're after rarer stuff you can't find elsewhere, there's a bigger chance of getting it.

i hope one of you computer knowledgeable posters can help me!

i'm seeking advice on how i can get kazaa OFF my computer.
whenever i try to remove it, a note pops up saying that its running and i must stop it first. the problem is that as far as i can tell, it's not running; no traffic, no files (i deleted them all), and it's disconnected.
what gives?

Thankfully I never touched kazaa, but your experience, ody, sounds very like mine with audiogalaxy a couple of years ago. I got rid of the program but there was a pile of crap left behind still which took a while to fish out.

I use ad-aware (lavasoft.com) and spybot (forgotten the url) which helped clear most of it, but there were a couple of DLLs I had to get rid of manually. A quick search on a site I use sometimes revealed the program linked below which might be of use to you.

update!

i have being giving bit torrent a drilling and it seems it pretty darn good (for some things).

i have dled all all episodes of friends except season 8 which i can't find. there are plenty of games and software on it also.. as for movies and music, winmx.

heres where winmx still wins.. search and control.

my final opinion is - combine winmx and bit torrent and you can get whats out there.
