I just bought the Olympus X-250 (3.2 megapixel, 3X optical) at Yongsan. It was 260,000 with just a little bargaining.
I'm delighted with it. It does all it's supposed to do and is incredibly easy to use with a computer.
I also got a 128mb memory card (70,000) which gives me incredible storage. 1237 photos at lowest quality!! I use the lowest quality because it looks damn good to me and is perfect for e-mailing.
This camera is made in Korea so I'm guessing it was a little cheaper for that reason. It was the cheapest 3.2 megapixel in Yongsan on the day. |

Bought a Canon A80 4 megapixel in Yongsan for 450,000W. That was the best deal I found in the place.
I've seen A80's in the states go for $400 so I saved about 25 bucks I guess.
Anyway, I like the Canon so far. It has some great features.
I maybe could have looked around for a better price but I was ready to buy after I checked 3 or 4 different venders there.
Maybe Japan is cheaper.

That's a good price. Great camera too.
It's a little cheaper online, but it'd be worth it to me to pay the extra 20,000w to have a guy to return it to, rather than deal with an online company. Plus, you get it that day rather than waiting for delivery. Sounds like you got a good deal.

When I was in Japan digi cams didn't seem any cheaper there. I think in most cases the cameras were more expensive.
As for the person wanting a video camera one of the canon models is pretty cheap. less than 700,000. There are probably cheaper models out there. |
