I had three under-the-skin ones removed in Asan hospital. I had no insurance and paid out of pocket. It cost $350 for two visits. I didn't want to be put under so they just freezed it up and went at it. I'm a pretty cool customer though. It hurts like HELL later. I would say the procedure was done fairly well. |

I had one removed last year that was impacted and curved. They just numbed it up and went to town on the sucker. I'm not going to lie, the dentist was prying it like you pry a nail off the wall. Afterwards, it was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. It was worse than when I got appendicitis and breaking my wrist. They didn't give me any pain pills afterward, but strangley the intense pain goes away that night, instantly. For about a week and half after that though, I had throbbing pain because the dentist pretty much had to break my bone where the tooth was since it was curved. The cost for one removal was about 100,000 without insurance. |

I haven't had wisdom teeth removed here but I know people who have. I asked around and most people said that the cost isn't much different with or without insurance. The most that you might pay is 150,000. The cost has more to do with the actual clinic/dentist. I don't know anyone who's been completely knocked out for the surgery. I think that most people just get anesthetic injected into their gums or jaw. If the tooth is really under the bone then the dentist saws it away and you pray that he's able to get it out quickly because the drugs wear off eventually.
Definitely get the dentist to give you a prescription for pain killers. Insist on it if necessary. If he has to cut away at the bone, you'll be in need of some strong pain killers for the next couple of days. You'll probably also want to take a few days off work. Or get it done on a Friday and take Monday off. |
