I agree. The American Revolution was a revolution.

Fascinating stuff, this.

The same kind of person who:

* believes Israel to be a misunderstood genocidal state, despite the fact the Arab population trebled in the Occupied Territories from 1967

* believes that Islam is a misunderstood religion of peace despite the fact that Islamic terrorists have committed nearly 14,000 deadly acts of terrorism on civilians in the last 8 years

* believes in an international Jewish conspiracy whom, amongst many other ills, are chiefly responsible for 9/11

* believes the US and Israel are chiefly responsible for Islamic terrorism, despite the fact that Islamic terror regularly takes place in over 40 different countries (and is clearly a much wider, and indeed internal, conflict)

* adheres to the principles of Marxism, despite the fact that such principles inspired the murder of over 100 million unarmed civilians in the 20th century

and he's just warming up.

Is that anything like the person who;

* believes that, with the exception of the US and Israel, the entire planet is wacko because it is anti-Israel going by a majority of the votes at the UN

* believes Israel is an ideal vacation destination

* believes global population has nothing to do with carbon emissions or sustainability

* believes a guy in a cave on the other side of the world was able to singlehandedly defeat the most sophisticated military defenses in the history of the planet on 9/11

and who

Oh dear, here we go again. Your radical unabombing conspiracy theories just barely (this much: ---> l l ) deserve a reply.

The UN earns little respect and has even less creedence. And the entire world isn't wacko: just the muslim world. And Africa. And Russia. And China. And the fascist dictators who are threatened by Isreal. And the rest of the millions of immigrants who dream about life in N. America or Europe. But don't let these get in the way of your conspiracy theories.

Oh, and if you love beaches, bikinis, & beer, you'll LUFF isreal!

Global populations definitely have an impact on environment, but government environmental policies are key. (or lack thereof, such as the case of China, Russia, Haiti, or any Israel-hating country) Within decades, western civilization will be the only place on earth whose environment is not decimated. In the meantime, Billions of Israel-haters will destroy their arable land. At which time, let me guess; you will blame the U.S !

We're not so much worried about a guy in a cave. We're more worried about an entire civilzation being raised with 7th century ideals of violence and barbarism. And btw, a bunch of "pissed off muslims" caused 9/11, in case you never heard. But you can discuss this with all the other 20,000 dollar-a-year conspiracy whackos in the 9/11 thread.

More importantly, if your nation is attacked and your government collapses, do you get to keep your work visa?

I'd try to kill as many Russians (preferably officers) as I could and blow up supplies... before I got killed. That's what I was taught to do at the army. Well, except dying, that is. Cool

By the way, I've nothing against Russians. It's just that I don't see them sissy Swedes attacking Finland anytime soon. Oh, and some of you may find this hilarious, but I did my service at a guerrilla unit. I'm no Rambo, though! Laughing

You Finns did a fine job messing the Russians up in WWII, though.

The Finns are hardcore man, one of my HS friends was the son of the Finnish Consular General in Michigan and he was nuts about his mandatory service. It was a point of pride to go and do it. Like if he didn't do it he was not a man. Bully for him.

They didn't just take it to the Russians but the Germans as well. You gotta respect a nation that will give the finger to two of the three mightiest powers in the world, plus the Swedes next door. That and fly Brewster F2A Buffalos against German and Russian fighter craft and hold their own- (Note the American's combat record with the Buffalo)

Back to the topic at hand when it comes to whether or not you will fight with your countrymen in a time of trouble I always think to the St. Crispin's day speech in Henry V and his disguised verse the night before the battle. "Our cause being just, our quarrel honorable". Of course I just hated on causes in an earlier post. Somehow both are right and the don't contradict each other. Either that or the persuasive speech Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain gives in "The Killer Angels" to the deserters of the 2nd Maine. "In the end we're fighting for each other"
