I read a bit on the newest decision. It looks as if Obama is beefing up security with short-range missiles in the Gulf, rather than squandering money on a iffy system in Eastern Europe that the generals didn't want.
One less point of irritation with the Russians, a more effective deterrent rather than an expensive pipe dream, a better defensive posture vis a vis the Iranians. What's not to like? |
That's right. Obama is emphatically not giving up on strategic missile defense. He's merely allocating limited resources in the most efficient manner he can. And doing a good job, IMO. |

Anyone who has voted Republican or Democrat is directly responsible for America's current economic disaster and military failures. Shamefully, I have to admit that I voted Republican when I was young, naive, and got duped by the Contract With America ruse, but never since. |

I enjoy the duplicity of the dim. Obama pushes health care reform and the opponents start taking their guns to the public discussions and scream about socialism; Obama follows Bush's policy and the opponents scream about that as well.
