Odog: "What you say about my mother?" Blam Blam. Dead shopkeeper.

Very Happy , I think I peed in my pants a little! Bang and splatter! What do you think the last thing to go through the shopkeeper's mind was?

Wow, you're an idiot. Don't deny it, you're just an idiot.

So you know what was hilarious- that movie where that foreign English teacher got portrayed as a potential rapist and pedophile.

Same with the black guy from American History X. When he was seeing his life flash before his eyes as Ed Norton was about to curb stomp him, I was just laughing my butt off. "That's what you get for trying to take over the basketball court!" Imagine what the last thoughts going through that ghetto thugs mind were...."Man I shoulda never messed with the white man"- Hilarious. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

And people wonder why the apologists are so against the haters....

Seriously, this thread is about legitimate acting performances and you come on here talking about how some Korean guy who says one line and gets blown away is a 'tour de force' performance and is comedic gold....

Whatever moral highground you guys claimed to have in the past is gone. Completely gone. Nothing the 'apologists' have ever posted approaches that.

benji, Craven....seriously, take 5 and go to a quiet place and think about what you wrote. That's all I ask.

Moral highground? You know this is an internet chat forum and not the United Nations, don't you? I think you need to go to a quiet place and think about why you let Daves have such a profound influence on your psyche.

The one who has problems with their psyche is the guy who's living in Korea and laughing at that scene on a thread about REAL ACTING. Don't try and shift the blame to me to cover up your posted ugliness.

Pardon me for trying to bring this place up rather than drag it down. I mean this is the premiere site for ESL teachers in Korea, a group that, according to the posters here, is very concerned about how the local population perceives it.

Seriously replace Korean with African-American and replace Gunned-Down Shopkeeper in Menace 2 Society with Curb-Stomped Black Guy in American History X and suddenly you don't look so funny and people won't give you a free pass.

Anyways, sorry to be sanctimonious but I think any normal, well-adjusted adult would have the same reaction to your post- like dude, what's your problem? If you find that entertaining, you've got issues.

Most people thought of Harold, Bobby Lee, The Lost girl or Sung Hi-Lee, when they thought entertaining.

Where does the thread title mention "Real Acting." Sung Hi Lee is a "real actress"? Somebody mentioned Odd Job. He never spoke.
Menace 2 Society is a great movie and the Korean scene was the most important part of the plot. Can you name any major moive where Korean characters have figured more prominently and importantly in the plot? Its great peole enjoyed Harold and Kumar. Never saw it. Not my cup of tea. I like funny comedies.

The title mentions something about cool Korean roles in Hollywood. I have a predilection for latex effects; seeing a brilliantly staged fake brain spray ranks highly on my list of must sees.

A lack of a sense of humor on these threads is extremely telling.

I have to back Steelrails here. Koreans do actually read these sites, and posts like these sound like something you'd expect to read on a KKK website like Stormfront or something. You don't have to work for the UN to be bothered by racially offensive comments.

I believe someone who is Korean may well find the fact that more than one person on this thread enjoyed seeing a Korean getting shot in the face more than a little offensive. I am not saying that this is the intention of your posts, however this is how they are coming across.....Craven Moorehead has not helped.

I think a simple apology for how your post may have came across to others, regardless of how you intended your original post, would have been better than trying to mount a defense. Your posts are the kind of thing that will be taken out of context by people like the Anti-English Spectrum translated into Korean and posted on their websites for all Koreans to read.

90% of movies have someone getting shot. Menace 2 Society is the best of its genre. A great film. Korean characters were a very important plot device. I dont think i will be aplologizing for my post at all. You and Korean netizens can take the post any way you want. If its taken out of context and misconstrued for " all Koreans to read" who cares?

The first season of The Wire where the North Korean guy commits suicide. His final words: "New world, my a$$."

The Korean/Asian kid from "21" & "Disturbia" ranks high in my mind.

Hmm... the entire time you guys were talking about 'Menace 2 Society', I was thinking of 'Don't be a Menace...' which spoofed the original quite well...

"Hurry up and BUY!" Laughing

But- the Menace 2 Society scene disturbed a few (myself included), not really a scene where the Koreans are shown to be cool Crying or Very sad Rolling Eyes
