| Fat Wreck Chords Survival of The Fattest. It's uplifting and energetic. Screamo gets kind of depressing after a while. |

I'd have to go with the Saturday Night Fever sound track.
I'd also have to throw props out to Neil Diamond. |

The Who - Quadrophenia (original).......I got into this at about 13 years old and basically didn't ever listen to pop music again. Showed me that music could rock.

Yes!! Didn't know anybody else thought about this one any more. My all-time favorite. I took the whole thing as the story of someone finding their identity among many different experiences, many different possibilities, and many different and conflicting personality characteristics. Keith Moon's drum work (especially on Bell Boy) might be the best ever, and the last song, in the context of the story, is truly touching and majestic. |

What is this with my favorite album? Are you all about 52 like me? What did it mean to the rest of you? |

I liked this one, a lot, too. "West End Girls" is compelling, or haunting, or something, in a way few songs have ever been.

One forty minute song broken into two halves. The whole thing is just genius. I've listened the album at least 700 times in the 3 years that I discovered it. |
A fine one as well. How do you feel about its companion album of sorts, Passion Play? That's the one I played a ton of back then. |

R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
Not the steamy pile of smarm that is "Everybody Hurts", but the rest of the album is amazing. Their last great album and my soundtrack for high school. |

Indeed. I thought this was R.E.M.'s best album by far. Like the Stones' Tattoo You, Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Fogelberrg's Innocent Age, and almost anything by Led Zeppelin, it's an album without any weak points. |

The OP utilizes present tense originally, so this gives some leaway as to age and accumulated wisdom.
Meaning: I am Jimmy. Anytime I have to remind myself that other people understand what it's like to be me, I spin it up. Perfect for this time of year. |
