These sorts of threads always remind that as long as there are shows, movies, albums, etc. that are both popular with fans and with critics, there will always be those who think of themselves as intellectually elite, independent thinkers by calling those works crap.
Some of the shows listed here are not even close to being the worst sitcoms. Some people always equate worst with "more popular than I wish it were."

this show may be the highest rated new show to have come out in quite a while. Hell, one survey listed it as one of the ten greatest shows to ever have been on TV. |

I am going stir crazy over the fact that Friends, How I met your Mother, and Sex & the City is shown repeatedly on TV here. Overplaying these 3 made them unbearable

The Nanny
My Two Dads
Will and Grace
Caroline in the City
guess there are more. that's all I got for now. |
I'm not sure it's fair to judge some of those shows by today's standards. |

You know, I thought the supporting characters were way funnier. I liked Mr. Roper, who was always cutting down his horny wife. I liked Mr. Furley's overacting and his look of panic whenever his "Big Brother Bart" was going to kill him because the rent was late. I liked sleazy Larry and slutty Lana. They were much more interesting than Jack tripping over the same couch a hundred times. |

Good list except for Will & Grace. It ages really well. The best part of the show was their ability to seamlessly transition from comedic moments to dramatic ones and back. VERY hard to do. Great characters and delightfully pretentious at times, plus a steady stream of one-liners by Karen Walker. |
Now I remember why I liked Will & Grace.
I always hated Full House and Blossom when I was a kid, especially after the first Blossom died. The new Blossom was just no good. Teen Angel and Boy Meets World were also terrible.
I'm sure Sabrina the Teenage Witch wouldn't hold up any more, but my sister and I loved that one.
I like pretty much every sitcom well enough. If you're just sitting around with people, there's nothing better than a sitcom. If it's good, you laugh. If it's bad, you make fun of it and laugh. I don't watch them when I'm alone though. They're just a social thing. |

You've got to be kidding. TV has generally gotten much better over the last ten or so years. Yes, there are still a bunch of mediocre sitcoms like 2 1/2 Men, but shows like the office (UK or US), arrested development, curb your enthusiasm, extras and many others are far better than the formulaic crap that was on before. The removal of a laugh track in and of itself improves the quality of these shows tenfold. |

Probably going to take some crap for this, but:
Friends
How I Met Your Mother
The Big Bang Theory |
take your crap and get out of here.
I only started watching How I met your mother a few weeks ago and I sky plussed the entire series and sat and watched them in my g.fs house over three nights. I think it's funny in a stupid way, barney is a hero amongst men!!
I like the big bang theory but I could happily miss it or watch it, I wouldn't give up my time doing something else to catch it.
Although I could do without the laughter track on both.
Comedies I loved.
Keeping up appearances

Only fools and horses

The Office (english version)
The Inbetweeners
Peep Show
Phoenix Nights
the old 'last of the summer wine'
There are a few more, just can't be bothered thinging about them. |
God... you liked the Bing Bang AND HIMYM and didn't like The Office? Are you real? |
I loved the proper/ original office. I even own the entire box set. However I just dont like the american version, I actually have only ever watched about 5 mins of it. I never like when classic comedies are remade for a different audience. (that 70's show was funny, however they made an English version of it about 7 years ago and it was terrible) |

| I never ever got into Seinfeld or Friends. There were like nails on a chalkboard to me. Now I can barely sit through a sitcom. |

You are correct my good man. I did enjoy most of them long ago. I would not enjoy them as much now, well maybe I would, but times change, and past things can look pretty strange sometimes. When you're 40 years old, some things you liked long ago just look odd I guess. |

| I really hated Friends after season 5 or 6. It was funny at the start. Two and a half men is terrible. I also really disliked 'keeping up appearances'..really grated on me for some reason. |
