San Paulo has some of the best steak I've ever had. I was searching on the internet for hours trying to find a good steak in Seoul....and this place sounded like it was the best so I gave it a try. AMAZING!!

26,000 for the Churrasco (all-you-can-eat-meat). You sit down and they immediately serve you a sirloin....cooked medium rare, then they just keep bringing out the variety of cuts and meats. Their tenderloin and garlic steak is are really good....the ham is absolutely the best I've ever had. Been there twice and every time I can't believe how good it is.

Seoul National University of Education exit 14, walk straight about 3 minutes....it's on the right. You'll see wine bottles and Brazilian flags, it's on the second floor. Go HUNGRY, do not fill up on bread and carbs that they serve....wait for the meat, you'll be glad you did!

Any updates on good steak in Korea?

I've been in the US for a couple weeks eating grass-fed buffalo tenderloin from Whole Foods, beyond good. Really depressing to come back to this Korean beef selection.

My method is cast iron skillet, grass-fed butter, and Highstreet market Australian sirloin/rump steak (but it's grain fed which I don't prefer). It's so so, tried their ribeye but some batches are tough and inedible. Also do hanwoo grass-fed sometimes, the rolls of super thin slices, pan fry with butter, garlic and capers, it's okay. But neither totally does it for me.

Going to try that brazilian joint at SNUE on the weekend but would like to find better day to day options for the homestead...

The meat selection is as dismal as ever. And the prices keep going up. Where do all the good cuts of meat go?

That being said, I bought USDA beef at HomePlus at World Cup stadium. It was as delicious and tender as I remember.

I recommend Longos steakhouse if you are ever near one, it's half the price of Outback and twice as good.

More info on LONGOS, please--Google isn't getting me there.

Kitchen 272, under the Fraser suites hotel in Insadong, has good steak, best I've had in Korea, and much better than Outback. That's what I would recommend.

The best steak I've had is Carne do Brazil in Sinchon (I know there's one in Itaewon as well, perhaps more). For 35,000W you get 7 different types of steak, unlimited, with sides of mashed potatoes, salad and pepper type pico de gallo.

Funny you should ask that.

Was talking to a guy yesterday who has a friend who has been a meat inspector for 10yrs. Apparently the meat inspector guy says the Samsung guys get all the good stuff. The stuff in the big stores isn't necessarily even hanwoo he says, and even if it is, it's crap. He knows when the prime cows are getting slaughtered and sets his contacts up with the best stuff, what's left goes to the stores.

This is all second hand but I'm setting up a meeting with the meat inspector guy to quiz him further and find out if I can get on the cool-people list. Wouldn't surporise me if this is how it works here, it's all about connections.

In a country where American or Canadian beef can magically transform into Austrailian beef overnight, what you are suggesting wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I'll second a thumbs up for Carne do Brazil. I've eaten at the Gangnam location. Best steak I've had in Korea.
