Self-consious?
I was the center of attention when i went to China and Mongolia. 6'3 and about 230 lbs of muscular black dude. It was fun in Mongolia. Super stardom as soon as off the plane and what's wrong with that?
Use your fame to make friends and be cute. Talk to gals and go for coffee. Smile and be friendly. Use it. Back home, you ain't as interesting...
That's why I love to Travel |

| Good God, just more proof that some people will argue over anything. |
Kind of like arguing over a non-racist comment.
For the record, I used to get lots of stares from lusty to leering. These days I don't get much of either. |
You really dont actually read the posts do you?
I started off by saying it was racist ( something I like to speak out against) he and others showed me that the post was not in fact racist, a retracted, or conceded that it wasn't, but it WAS judgmental and it showed he felt superior.
Which is basically what you are doing now, trying to use my wording to feel superior when you know damn well what I meant.
if you are going to contribute to the topic then go ahead, if not, then sod off |
Showing someone that they are contradicting themselves (something I like to speak out against) is not being judgmental, nor is it a sign of superiority.
I did contribute. Please read my posts more carefully before you decide to insult and be rude. |

Well if you actually think that I was contradicting myself then I guess you arent reading them as clearly as you think.
It was pretty clear what I was saying |

| My thought - you just don't pay enough attention to notice when people are staring at you. They are staring at you. |

Seoulio,
You haven't answered the question in response #1.
How tall are you? (etc.) |

You're not the only one. No one in real life complains about staring, but you wouldn't think it from Dave's. Staring used to be an issue, but not any more and not for a long time.
In fact, I'm going to take a poll just to confirm this.

Getting stared at is about as trivial as the whole touching thing.
This is going to open up flames but I have to say it seems White North Americans in particular seem to have this desire to be private when out in public.
The reason one goes out into public IS to be noticed. It's to see old friends and to make new ones.
I love getting stared at and interacting with the community.
The saddest thing I see is someone sunglassed, IPoded, hooded sweatshirted person walking around with a scowl (Here or back home). Lighten up Frances. Try smiling. Take of the sunglasses. Stop driving your cycle of rage with a bunch of anger music. Let the sun hit your hair. |

Depends on where you are walking around in.
Rural=Everyone stares and sometimes points at the V
Itaewon=no big deal, it's V central.
Anywhere else=Men 40+ years old staring in disbelief |

I get stares all the time, but I'm pretty.
My uber short hair also isn't common on females. I had to explain to my barber that it's popular in France to get him to keep cutting away. |
i bet you get stared at because your dad bought you an ipad that you will pick up when you go home next month.
i get stared at a ton. girls generally do the opposite; they stare away from me as they pass (often directly at a wall). sometimes they stumble or drop their phone.
look; don't look; i don't care. but i think that if you gawk, you should at least acknowledge your gawkee is a human-being with a nod, smile or something besides a sneer or a gaping word-hole. |
